Really interesting video, to get a realistic breakdown of your setup monthly costs. I am glad that you included all the costs. I know that travelling with a caravan has its positives e.g convenience of having all the things you need to take with you. But listening to how many cost are involved with insurances, registration maintenance, additional fuel to cover what is used to tow the caravan over not towing a van. Additional wear and tear of the vehicle and stress of towing the caravan. Makes me think is a more simple set up a better option? Thank you once again your videos are always very honest and enjoyable.

Great to see your new setup all coming together guys, van will look mint once those new stickers and stone guard are on. 2 questions, where did you get the new tool box made and second, was that pumpkin frozen too as chris was having a good old wrestle with it!!!😂😂 Safe travels and look fwd to the next video.

Hi thanks Gary its all fitted together very nice , we are now in the NT catching Barra and Mudcrabs (just had Territory day here with cracker night: Escape the Winter 2 ) my mate Daniel made the box for us he also built the canopy very happy with the way it all turned out . You will see soon as we have a couple of videos ready to go when we can get good enough service to upload them and yes those pumpkin pices were like solid ice cheers Kev

Love how the boat loads on to the back. The tie down straps looked a little loose. Good lesson, I end up heaving on such things which may not be the smartest thing to do.

its just a shame we had the racks built for the 3.7 tinny but we modified the to take the much narrower 3.5 but no movement when travelling which is just as well with where we are going on this trip - Kalumbaru rd will test any gear cheers Kev

Great videos what holds your seats upside down when on the roof?
@travellingaustralia73193 ай бұрын
we just use staps with the cam fitting Grunt brand I believe and add a small stainless saddle to the tinny seats to stap them to cheers Kev

A good shake down trip. The front box setup, was that done by your ally fab mate Daniel? Also wondering do you still carry mounted gas bottles in there somewhere? Cheers 👍🏼🍻
@travellingaustralia73197 ай бұрын
yes Daniel did a great job as usual for him worked out perfect ,and yes the gas bottles are stored between the spare tyres on the front so protected by the box which now also carries the mangrove jack trailer cheers Kev
@craigmuir-jj4oh7 ай бұрын
@@travellingaustralia7319 looks like an awesome front box setup. So to change a gas bottle you take a spare wheel out?

Can you tell me if you have had the entire outfit weighed ? If so would you share the figures with me. I am intrigued how you can fit so much in and on and still be legal. Looks great
@travellingaustralia73193 ай бұрын
check out our video RV Safety Weigh we had done so much homework to stay legal but even then miscalculated by 150 odd kg but all has been sorted now ,we are very close to our max GVM and are under GCM by 200-300 kg cheers Kev

20hp, that thing must fly. My 3.5 is only rated for a 10hp even for a high sided tinny, mine is a stessco squire which is about 90kg apparently and doesn't really get up outa the hole with the 9.9, is there no law about motor size? If not I'm goin bigger
@travellingaustralia73197 ай бұрын
yes this really gets up and goes we can get 45 km per hr with 2 people and all our gear (both sitting at the rear) with just 1 person we get close to 50 this tinny is rated to 15 hp and 47 kg engine weight we have the Tohatsu fuel injected 20 hp four stroke which weighs 42 kg we have had to reprop the motor and also fitted a taco to make sure we are getting the best performance and as a bonus it is so economical compared to a 2 stroke this Tohatsu is unbelievably good cheers Kev

@@travellingaustralia7319Kev did you have to get the 3.5 certified for the 20hp outboard? Is it a difficult process?
