Here’s a quick 1992 video of a trip back to neighbouring Doveton where I lived 1974-77, I drive past the 2 schools I went to and our old house

Growing up in Springvale, this brings back some memories. I remember going to the Prince Mark for some travellers and nearly got into about 10 fights lol

First one is Photinia St into Cedar St into Bottlebrush Drive. I'm guessing the second school is either Doveton Tech or Doveton West Primary School. My guess would be the tech

Was that an HR? They would have been rare then. We had an 8mm but the reels were lost. I'd hoped that they were hidden somewhere but after my mother died we went through everything with a fine-toothed comb to no avail. Thank you for this insight into your life.

Thanks TR, it looks like a HR👍 I hope you find your lost footage, cheers Gezza

@@Gezza1967 Thank you, but they are both gone and that's it. You're in a Commodore? I used to visit my old homes when I was home. My last one looks like Hong Kong now with highrises everywhere. I won't ever do that again.

Wow you're a Doveton person. I grew up around Doveton Ave then moved to Hallam. The place is looking very scrappy these days - and that's saying something.

Yes Andy, I’m due for another look of the area, perhaps after lockdown. My brother & I left Doveton in early January 1978 to go to this place for 4 years…. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qICUnHuVopp5opI

@magyaradam89572 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's right pretty much everyone moves except for the people that bought a house there when it was $40,000 back in 1993 there was one person on Hawthorn Road who had a pool built into their ground but they covered it with dirt which was weird

I bet that it was a lot safer suburb back then!

Nah man lol, it was ROUGH! Gangs at autumn place, house robberies repeatedly, heroin addicts, weed, graffiti everywhere. It was a pure houso area there, I know, because I grew up there and loved every minute of it.
