Thank You both, brings back fond memories when my father used to take me out to the Bridges just before the start of every school term. We would take the bus out, take a trip over and back on the car ferries. Then to break in my new Clarks school shoes we would walk back home to Davidsons Mains. Thank you again for those memories

Cracking tour of Queensferry and Bridges, Guys. At least you had dry, sunny weather for your tour.

Kirkliston just a couple of miles south of Queensferry is nicknamed Cheesetown because the Men that worked on the Forth Road Bridge when it was being built used to mainly have cheese on their bread pieces at break time ! Check that one out

Absolutely love South Queensferry. It holds a lot of memories for me when I lived at Craigiehall many years ago. We last visited in August 2017 and I've got some photos on my Instagram if you guys want to take a look. David Pinder Photography. Also, there's two cracking fish and chip shops there, the best being nearest the Hawes Inn. Great video.

Stayed in the hawes in many times, first trip was in 1980,we had seen the film"the 39 steps"the first film with ,Robert Donant, filmed partly in South Queensferry. Another trip to the Hawes Inn was in 2018,this was to remember the surrender of the German grand fleet .it is still the greatest gathering of battleships and cruisers ever seen.the German ships formed up in the estuary with battleships from all the allied powers on each side, they entered the Forth and anchored all the way from the naval base back to the Forth bridge,if you had been staying at the Hawes Inn,an amazing sight would have been seen!the German captains were ordered to "strike" their colours as the act of surrender! The next day the fleet left for Scapa Flow, there to be held under guard by the royal navy.if your thinking"what a load of rubbish"catch the train across the bridge and get off,go over to the other side to catch the train back,in the tiny waiting room are pictures of this great occasion!

I love the local shops and eateries. That’s one of the things I love about travel. Not the global “same everywhere “. Thanks for taking us on your day trips.

I love the Forth Bridge. Nearly crash the car every time I go over the road bridge 'cause I'm too busy looking sideways out the window and not forwards out the windscreen :) Nice video, thanks.

Regarding The Hawes Inn, it is said Robert Louis Stevenson to have been staying in room number 13 in 1886 when he came up with the idea of ‘Kidnapped’ and started writing the novel there. Indeed the Hawes inn features in the story as the place where the kidnapping of the hero, David Balfour, was arranged. There are or were, 4 painted panels of the story's main characters on the principle elevation. The inn also has other literary connections: it is mentioned in Sir Walter Scott's 'Antiquary' and again by Stevenson in 'Memories and Portraits'.

You folks must come to Florida to see a "proper beach". ( If you haven't already.) Google: Sunshine Skyway Bridge,Florida. Looks similar to the new bridge.

I've been here a few times......My Grandfather was a deep sea diver, he worked on the seabed in the construction for the Forth Bridge. I have a photo of him standing in his divers suit with the Forth Bridge behind him......

Hi again! More memories. Do any of your viewers remember the car ferries which plied between north & south Queensferry before the road bridge was opened in the 1960’s? Many memories of them - and of the long drive via Kincardine when the queues for the ferries were soooo long on holiday days. How about a tour of Fife coastal towns - Elie, St Monans, etc and Lower Largo, where there is a statue of Alexander Selkirk, the real life hero of Robinson Crusoe, by Daniel Defoe.

I remember going across on the car ferry with my aunt and uncle to holiday with them in Edinburgh. It must have been 1959/60 ish. However it was pitch dark when we made the crossing, so I didn't see much.
