Problem is if you have a game with a resource management aspect (aka the inhaler in this case) and you program it realistically to have 300 uses, it takes some of the great and atmosphere out. You're not panicking and afraid of it running out and thus negating the entire mechanic. Now lore wise i think it could work as is if they mentioned the inhalers they find are near empty or had varying doses left to explain the one time use mechanic.

Funny that you mention the hospital smell. I once worked in one as a beautifully named "environmental specialist" (aka janitor) and they do indeed use a specific chemical that purifies the air to minimize the spread of sickness. This is why the entire staff isn't constantly ill despite working directly with sick people. There are cleaning products for the home with this same chemical but not many, weirdly enough.

The concept for the movies and this game and whatnot is pretty cool/scary. The issue for me that breaks the immersion is that it would never happen this way. It would become apparent pretty early on that they hunt by sound and by extension are sensitive to loud noises. Why doesn't everyone live by rivers and such? Also, we have freaking sonic weapons..... Also, how are the creatures like omnipresent?! Are there like trillions of them just chilling hanging around everywhere waiting for a random sound?!

I'd imagine not everyone can build a house around their rivers and waterfalls without making noises louder than the enviroment (I'm assuming hammering nails is louder). That's the main reason why I'd think people would rather just stay home where they are protected from the elements more. That and if lots of people know to go to waterfalls, then that would make them more crowded, and therefore more dangerous. This wouldn't apply to Niagra falls though due to its size and loudness, and that would be a great location, but the series never claimed people DIDN'T do that, for all we know Niagra falls is the biggest safe zone in the world now.

The third movie, day one, shows us that there were swarms of these things around. A literal tsunami of them followed after a helicopter passing by. We also don't really know anything how the invasion went. Everyone assumed that the small ones we've been seeing for the past two films were the only aliens, then the third movie came out and apparently big heavily armored Death Angels exist. And the eat space fungi grown from corpes. For all we know there are laser shooting winged variants over in Antarctica fucking shit up and we wouldn't know.

The biggest plot hole in this IP is that the monsters attack in seconds after the slightest sound meaning that there would have to be a monster every 50 yards in a pattern across the whole planet. i mean even a moderately powerful rifle would still have significant energy transfer. If all you needed was a hard exterior to defeat bullets then body armor wouldnt be so complicated. Ceramic works because it shatters and absorbs the energy, a solid steel plate might be fine but the softer bits beneath it arent even without plate deformation or spalling. Their whole gimmick requires a lot of suspension of disbelief.

I like the idea of A Quiet Place more than the the execution. It's wildly inconsistent, the angels can survive in the vacuum of space, but drown in water, somehow you can keep a baby and a cat from making noise, sometimes angels can hear a fly fart , but aren't bothered by birds chirping everywhere at once, yelling by a waterfall actually works, etc.

Hell even ignoring any sort of modern ballistic technology, i can name a single weapon that would trivialize these things. Thermobaric explosives. A small charge goes off, spreading a highly flammable and explosive substance over a wide area, and then a second charge goes off to light it. It would get into the cracks in their armor and turn them into a fucking soup thermos. Not even shock absorbent armor would save them from that.

Their exterior can stop bullets of smaller calibers, but an AP round will still go into their hides, explosives would liquify their insides from the sheer concussive force, shaped charges can penetrate tanks and easily could stop the death angels. Foosters by far the best gaming comtent creator in my opinion, he takes the time to go thru exploring everything and reads any text through instead of skimming or skipping over it, and he immerses us in the game so well. I liked a quiet place up until they put a baby into the equation. It's nice to "know" what would happen but anyone could assume what would happen because a baby cries. Throwing a baby, thats expected to cry, into a horror with monsters that respond violently to sound just feels cheap, like jumpscares. Other than that it was a good watch. It made me think of that old comedy (at least I think it was comedy I was a little lad when I saw it) movie where Martians start coming to Earth, messing stuff up, practically impervious to military weaponry, and then their heads explode from a guy singing on an album that a grandma owned lol.

Enviromental noise, a heartbeat is pretty quiet so the enviroment would have to be even more quiet. I don't remember if they had them open their face in a completely mute enviroment with a person. So if they did and it didn't hear them then that is an oversight, but I don't think that's happened yet.

It's not the "skin" persay that's bullet proof, that's the carapace that's basically bullet proof, the INSIDES however aren't and at the end of the first movie it is possible to murk them when you stun them with a loud enough radio frequency (something I'm already predicting is that little "project" Alex in this game is putting together which is why she needs a radio)

There isn't really anything that is truly bullet proof - it all depends on the density, size, and velocity of the bullet. They may be bulletproof to small arms but, anti-material rifles would either outright kill them or seriously injure them.

If they are bulletproof to small arms, and we only see small arms used against them, then there is no reason to think they are somehow impervious to all weaponry. I think the only time we know that they went against the army they won through sheer numbers against a small ground assault. This doesn't mean the military is unable to hunt them, this is why most of the series takes place in isolated rural areas that the army likely hasn't had a chance to secure yet.

yeah this isn't ANYTHING like Alien Isolation, I don't even know why people would think that other than being too stupid to understand game mechanics and just see big alien monster and assume its the same. The gameplay would be more closely compared to Outlast. I'm also not convinced you are in any real danger most of the time, it genuinely seems like you can make all the noise in the world and be fine, until you walk into a cutscene trigger that places an alien in front of you, then you have to stealth around it until you get another cutscene, and then you are safe again. Pretty wasted oppurtunity for a game in this series.

There are so many things wrong with these characters. It all just make no sense. Number one, why is the asthmatic out searching for supplies? There were multiple able-bodied men and women back at the camp. Number two, when she briefly backdates her pregnancy she says, 'probably two months'. That happens on day 110-115 ish. Which means a month into a planetary apocalypse, after people knew what they were dealing with, numbnuts here didn't think to at least use protection. When they can't make noise anyway. Number three, this whole asthma mechanic just feels like a cheap, forced noisemaker in general. Who in their right mind would leave an insulated, semi-safe hospital to search for a national guard camp that may not even exist when being in dust for a few seconds can cause them to cough?? Nothing about this makes sense. It plays more like 'A Quiet Place Fanfic' than an actual attempt at a horror game.

The number of times Fooster continuously stood up and walked through things like debris, water, etc, that made more noise than if he'd just crouched through it gave me so much stress Still, I enjoyed the playthrough regardless! I find A Quiet Place to be very interesting; there are some plotholes with its lore and stuff in the movies, etc, but it's still a very interesting series if you don't nitpick it and just enjoy the suspense!

So if they have impeccable hearing, I think you can destroy their audio receptors with the LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device). I love how the beginning of the game opens with the characters talking in whispers near a kinda loud stream, anyone who’s seen the movies knows a stream like that allows for quiet whispers, along with the tutorials making constant reference to the creatures, it makes you think you are already after the arrival of them so you are afraid to make noise when honestly you are fine
