Swarupa Chakraborty Thanks for your interest. Its easy to learn colloquial spoken Tamil but Literary Tamil is a different ball game altogether. Most of the hits of ARR were in Tamil. I think that made you tempted to learn the language..

Indirajith suresh nanda kumar 😀 You're probably not entirely wrong. I'm a very humble fan of Rehman Sir. And Ilyaraja Sir! And Mani Ratnam movies. But my interest for learning Tamil comes from learning Bharatnatyam..the bespoke music of the old literateurs like Thiagaraja have moved me since childhood. I couldn't continue dance later on but I've travelled to TN very often, lived in Karnataka. A big part of my mind resonates with the South. Only the language is a barrier. I will overcome it one day. Of that I am sure :) Thanks for responding!

Swarupa Chakraborty It's nice to know about your interest towards Bharatanatyam which was born in my native Thanjavur - the capital of Cholas. My Sister is a Bharatanatyam dancer too. I like ARR and ilayaraja as well especially melodies from both the composers. Thank god Kollywood is really blessed with so many musicians from MS to Ilayaraja to AR Rahman to Santosh Narayan in varied times from the 60s to present. Thyagaraja was a Carnatic musician from the previous era but most of his compositions in Telugu but less in Tamil. Tamil having more literature and classical music and poems bcoz of predominant spiritual culture which was not affected unlike in North due to invasions from other kingdoms. If you want any help in learning Tamil, we can help bcoz I'm also one of the members of Teaching Tamil group in Whatsapp. If you're interested, you can join the group.

I listened to both the Yuvan and this ARR mashup and honestly both are really really awesome!!!!! Phenomenal effort by Stanley, Sathya and the whole team!!!! Both YSR and ARR have a completely contrasting musical styles and their arrangements are also different. Please guys, don't compare the mashups and please don't discourage such awesome talent... As a musician, I know how much effort it takes to come up with something like this. My only problem is, the duration is tooooo short!!! Please make an ARR mash up for 10 mins pleaseee..
