We have converted back to Judaism and Thank G_d for allowing us to learn through many honest teachers such as Skobac. I was baptised a roman catholic. Since I was ten years old I have pondered the truth of the teachings of my church. I have been incredulous since that age and I have been reading and trying to search for materials that can help me understand why I cannot fully accept this christian faith that I have been brought up with. I pray that G-d lead me. Thank you very much for sharing these videos with everyone. I think my prayers are being answered loud and clear. Shalom.

What a wonderful and liberating lecture! I am a Christian and I like to ask questions. The more I study the Christian history and the Bible, the more clearly I see how the Christian theology evolved and deviated from the Bible - the Old and New Testaments alike. Knowledge is light. Darkness disappears when there is light. Light tends to shine on those who have an open, inquisitive and critical mind. History is a mirror that reflects both bright and dark spots of Christianity.

Thank you for this seminar, I am a Christian, I have always have felt Paul was on his own mission. And my ancestors came from the polish Jews in the 1830. I don’t know why they change one can only guess. But I have a depth passion to learn what I can. I believe you are spot on in everything you are saying. The one thing I keep saying to other, Jesus never said he was God.

The Rabbi is absolutely correct when he states that the early followers of Jesus Christ and their customs and conduct absolutely refutes modern day Christendom. There is no comparison between the teachings of Jesus Christ and the early disciples and the pagan doctrines and teachings of Christendom today.

I have always welcomed these types of discussions from people of other faiths: Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and Atheists have taught me more about my Christian God over the years than all of my previous Bible teachers combined. With that said, I think your title is misleading. "Cross-Examination" implies competing views and hard questioning, which I'm convinced Rabbi Skobac would've been able to withstand. In all, I watched it to the end and enjoyed it very much!

What a great angle to take for this talk - This so supports my own beliefs - thanks for your scholarship. When I ask Christians about many of these quoted texts they have no answer - they just quote Isaiah or Daniel - give me a break - one more time with the suffering servant answer - OY. I'd love to hear more - keep the lectures coming. Todah

B"H> Don't know if mine is an edited edition, but the reference you cited for the virgin births is on pg 29 in my copy. Just to let anyone know that might have a similar edition. Thank you Rabbi Skobac for this EXCELLENT, thoughtful and accurate treatment of this subject matter. By the teachings of Rabbi Singer I left Xianity after 22 yrs of being a very "frum" Xian. It was difficult, but I knew it was more important to be obedient to HaShem than to hold on to my "darling" beliefs that had come to mean so much to me. I am so glad I did. I am a Ger Toshav / Noahide. I encourage all people of faith to listen carefully and all Jews to come home to Torah and the G*d of their fathers Avraham, Yitzkhak and Ya'akov. Khag Sameach and Shalom, ;-)

I do not disagree with the broad strokes of the argument here. In fact I agree but I do point out two points I think are a bit sloppy. First, Matthew 15:24 does say that but then Jesus does go on to assist the woman saying, "then Jesus said to her, “O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.” Second, while I agree that pagans took over Christianity within 200 years they were helped in a great amount because the vast majority of the Jewish followers of Jesus were killed in the rebellions against the Romans and the pagan followers thus were able to rewrite the story line to support their version.

This was the first time listening to this Rabbi, only other Rabbi I listened to was Abraham Joshua Heschel. It was very interesting, although , at the end I got a sense of a tribal man worshiping a tribal God. I will continue to listen to see in fact if this is true. Christian's should try to read the bible through Jewish lenses, makes perfectly good sense , Jesus and the twelve were Jewish.

I have wanted so incredibly much for a very long time to return to Judaism. My family history is Jewish,but I was not raised Jewish. I have been attempting since early 2008 to find an Orthodox organization in my area of the country, but the closest community is almost a 3 hour drive from where I live, with no means to be able to move any time soon. In the meantime, I live by the Halacha and keep Kosher. Any ideas on my situation would be greatly appreciated.

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I am enjoying what the Rabbi has to say immensely. I appreciate his candor and his honesty. I would love to have a one on one discussion with this man. J.W.s have a deep respect for the teachings of the Jews because we are in fact the true followers of Jesus Christ who WAS a Jew. We do not worship the pagan Trinitarian gods of Christendom, nor do we practice their pagan doctrines such as Christmas and Easter, etc., and we adhere strictly to the Shema found at Deut.6:4 "Hear, O Israel, Jehovah your God is ONE Jehovah." In fact, such teachings as the trinity, hellfire, immortality of the soul, Christmas and Easter are extremely OFFENSIVE to us. J.W.s and Jews are very similar in our beliefs in many respects with the exception of the acceptance of who the Messiah is, when he will come and how he will come. In fact, it is not an unknown thing for Jehovah's Witnesses to be called "Zionists". May the merciful and loving God of heaven, Jehovah, bless you all and help you come to know him.

@fromheretoeternity510410 жыл бұрын
The Rabbi speaks of how Christianity went from 100% Jewish to 100% gentile. This isn't quite true. Several of the apostles taught amongst the Jews even after the death of Jesus and the "older men" of the early Christian congregation were based in Jerusalem. In fact, the apostle Paul visited them there to receive instruction from them. What really happened is what Jesus foretold would happen immediately after his death....that oppressive wolves would enter into the congregation and mislead many. Then along came the Nicean council and Roman emporer Constantine with their pagan trinity teaching in 325 A.D. and forced that teaching upon everyone at the point of the sword or else. True Christianity by that time had died both inside and outside of Jerusalem and had given way to the "oppressive wolves". Enter Catholicism followed by the rest of Christendom.

The Christian's hate me because I debate them on their own bible they can not answer my questions . They should at lest know what their own bible says mean while I know what the Torah teaches and their bible. They tell me the Torah is out dated into days times and the commandments laws do not apply to them. They are the Lost sheep not myself and know use trying to correct them they think they are always right .

The definition of a Christian is a follower of Christ. Jesus was a Jew, He kept the Law. True Christians keep the Sabbath (there's no such thing as the 'Christian sabbath') and all of God's Laws. We delight to do His will; His Law is within our hearts. Genuine Christians study the Torah and worship the One true God, the Almighty Creator and Father of us all. The trinity is a lie and cannot be taught from the Bible.
@Jim-sb7dt4 жыл бұрын
Correct. So many christians are so uneducated about this things. Jesus's mistake was he thought the kingdom of god would overthrow the roman empire. It didn't. And paul thought jesus would return in his, Paul's lifetime. Again, didn't happen.

JEWS FOR JUDAISM was established over 30 years ago to counter the efforts of Christian missionaries that target Jews for conversion to Christianity. Sadly, over 300,000 Jews worldwide have succumbed to the efforts of these missionaries in recent decades. The claim of these missionaries is that Jews must accept Jesus as the Jewish Messiah, as their Lord and Savior, in order to be forgiven for their sins. In order to win back Jews who have been influenced by missionaries Jews for Judaism explains why their claims are not true. We would never have produced these video lectures had the missionaries not proselytized our Jewish brothers and sisters. But we have no choice in order to help keep Jews Jewish. I hope you understand. Thank you.

And you the people will call him the massiah.
