Your neighbors must be thrilled to have you fix up that weedy mess you started with. Remember wherever you put Jerusalem artichokes, they WILL spread and are very difficult to get rid of. Maybe in the very back of the plot next to the back fence and the compost pile.

New sub 😃👍 I like your channel. Your vibe is sweet, your work is satisfying. I bingewatched all the episodes and marveled at your determination to whip that area into shape and YOU DID IT. I feel sad when you feel sad lol DAMN that mare's tail! Damn it it to hell! And oh - think hard about putting that J-artichoke in because you can never get rid of them. They grow 8 feet tall with a very modest spray of yellow daisies at the top at the end of summer. Not worth all the space they take up!! That ground was meant for PUMPKINS.

Hi there - I must agree with all those that say the artichoke needs to be contained - i think your courgette is planted too close to the edge of the bed. As a rule of thumb each courgette should be plant in the center of a square metre, they are big plants. Plant something quick growing around the edge until the courgette grows and fills the space - growing turnips and carrots in the water tank is a brilliant idea - the compost heap is looking good - it might be worth buying an automatic window opener for your greenhouse to help save those and any future seedlings, a good investment Keep on plotting 😂

Seren, you and your videos are an absolute delight. I enjoy them so much. Thank you for sharing them. BTW, seven and a half decades of experience have taught me that skin is waterproof. The North Norfolk coast in the depths of a northerly winter storm can get pretty uncomfortable, but it doesn’t matter how wet your clothes or footwear get. The water will never get further than your skin! 😉 (Hence the saying, “…soaked to the skin…”. It NEVER says soaked into my skin. 😆) Keep warm and dry. I’m already looking forward to your next video.

"Tip: A root barrier for Jerusalem artichokes is useful, especially if some tubers are left in the soil during harvesting. Every tuber, no matter how small, produces new shoots in all directions to maximize its spread. A rhizome barrier is a great way to prevent this spread." Lovely video!

Your plot is looking amazing! There is a plot close to mine that looks like the one at the start of your video, when you commented on how good their soil looked. The plot near me has been rotavated in the last week or so, and looks like that. I am trying to establish no dig beds by hand weeding. This is a method I prefer for building long-term soil health. I think you are following the right path, even though it takes time.

Garden southern hemisphere, just harvested 32 pumpkins of the compost area, which is where they are grown. But the heaps are massive, aim to plant 10 plants each year of 3 different varieties, this season brought some new seed, that variety is the major pumpkins harvested. Managed only one or three pumpkins of the other two varieties.
