Bro.. How many kilometres did you clock on the Duke? And did you get any sort of major problems? Were there any reliability issues? Asking these questions because you rode the bike for 40 kms everyday on your commute to the office for so many years, I believe you mentioned 2017 to mid 2024. Need to make the purchase decision. I'd really appreciate if you could answer my question.

@@satyamupadhyay14 when I was considering to buy a duke390 gen3, I got to know these issues 1. Fit and finish (panel gaps) 2. High vibrations will seep soon after 5,000 rpm, which would be anoying if you ride a lot 3. Single cylinder which produces a ton power and runs on high compression which wears out sooner around 40-50k kms. Its seems to be true because we are squeezing more power from a single cylinder. (Still debatable topic about the reliability) 4. Its a naked bike so will definitely feel a lot of windblast on higher speeds I heard these issues from owners, so then I decided to extend my budget and go for Aprilia RS457, which is better than duke anyday. Correct me if im wrong.

@@kausikmr No bro you're not wrong.. I'm already extending my budget beyond what I should, hence a little concerned and confused about the situation. Thanks for sharing your input though. I appreciate your reply. I can't go for the Aprilia 457 due to my budget which was about 2.5-3 L. I want to keep the bike for at least 5-7 years, hence worried about the reliability. Completely agree to the wear and tear issue mentioned by you. I need the bike to be good for more than 80 K at least.

I think its better to just run the engine straigh ahead than just letting it heat up or whatever during rainy days . An engine is supposed to do one thing and thats to run and spin the wheel instead of idling and giving no power to the wheels . I forgot but some asian motorcycle youtuber had a short on this where he owns an aprilia rsv4 which is a 1 litre engine

@@Dootsauce bro i own a rs457 and the service centre guy told us to firstly let it heat as u can see on the display cold Is written after 15-20 seconds it shows ok on the display then you are ready toh go I won't affect in short period of time but for the health of the engine for long term it is suggested to wait

@@Dootsauce Time to wait is not a lot, you can gear up in the meanwhile. 1-2 mins in summers and roughly double of that in winters is enough to get the oil circulating and doing it's job On few bikes and even cars, the revs are raised until the ECU detects that sufficient oil pressure and temperature has been reached. Unless you're getting late, there is no reason to rush off

I dont feel heat of RS457 because I used to ride a bs4 duke 390 for my office commute for last 6 years, the heat in duke 390 is unbearable. Now when I ride the RS 457 I dont feel this heat atall. Trust me this the lowest heat you get for a sub 500cc. segment

Same here bro, i too have both 390 and this. Also the heat is not dumped on the leg if you wear a full pant and shoes.

@@0609kenji There are two issues in the braking 1. Brakes are getting heated up and fading soon 2. Abs is too intrusive but no need to worry if you are a city rider. you can use a better brake fluid like DOT 5.1, you can then turn the rear abs off which also reduces the abs intrusion in the front and then you are good to go.
