Very true. The rain was too bad to record much, but there is some lovely countryside along that route.

That's a good ride through the gorge 🎉, used come down that way and stay at the Matawai pub back when it was open.( the entire ride you did was awesome 👌).

It's been a while since I went through the gorge. I think it's been raining for 6 of the 8 times I've been that way. The rain spoiled my plans, but it was still a good ride.
