Which plants are you excited to grow in your garden this spring? I am so excited to see how David Austin Strawberry Hill and Pilgrim bloom in my garden.

I have a shrub version of Gertrude Jekyll which tries to grow like the climber version. It throws out long leggy canes. I love your roses and like you I love a cottage garden.

Thanks Kyla. The bare root Gertrude Jekyll that I planted had 2 flowers earlier in summer but now it's putting its energy into growing the rose. Let's see how it does. I was so surprised with the amount of flowers from Strawberry Hill that I planted in spring.

@@AmritaBhortake my Gertrude climber took off two summers after I planted her. Strawberry Hill grows so quickly and produces lots of blooms. She was one of the latest ones to bloom in my garden but she was absolutely covered in blooms and now is resting until she has her second flush of flowers. I grow her in a large pot with an obelisk and I wrap the canes horizontally which then produces more vertical canes and even more blooms 😊

@@kylathomas68 That's interesting about the Gertrude rose. I will keep that in mind. How does she flower for you now? Strawberry Hill has definitely been a surprise for me. Loving the blooms. Mine is also taking a break right now.

@@AmritaBhortake my Gertrude shrub rose in a pot is doing a second flush already. My climber Gertrude isn’t doing so much after her fantastic first flush. She has just produced a few blooms. There are currently two on her now compared to probably 100 during the first flush. I am hoping she produces more blooms in August. Other roses like Olivia Rose, Gloriana, Princess Anne, Gabriel Oak and Royal jubilee are blooming much better and almost continuously with only a few weeks between blooms.
