The Iroquois nation no longer goes by Iroquois as it was the name given to them by the French. They have changed it to Haudenosaunee which is their name in their language

Would highly recommend the channel Ancient Americas if you’re interested in finding out more about the history of indigenous peoples in the Americas. Takes a pretty academic and archeological approach to the subjects and gets super deep with it

1:33 IDK much about South America, but that North America map is VERY oversimplified and has a couple mistakes too. First off it gives the impression these are the only groups (I mean, obviously no, but for example it makes it seem like the Nootka lived throughout the Pacific Northwest Coast, when, no, they only lived on one part of Vancouver Island). There are hundreds of culturally distinct groups. If they can't show all of them, use broader terminology. Dont name a specific tribe like Nootka, just say "Potlatch peoples" or "Wakashan peoples," etc. Also Shoshone, Apache, Cheyenne, Natchez, Iroquois theyre all in the complete wrong spot. Would recommend they use broader terms instead of naming specific tribes and getting the locations accurate.

They were Celts, right? I mean, Nova Scotia is Scottish and the Welsh went to Newfoundland... "A Welsh writer and scholar, Sir William Vaughan was devoted to early 17th century Welsh colonization in Newfoundland."

@@WelshASMR82Maps there is also a lot of Irish and Breton mostly Celtic. I consider Newfoundland to be a Celtic nation too
