LSV, what a sick deck and of course you played it beautifully. I am a little over a year into my MTG journey and I really appreciate how much you explain your draft decisions and your in game play decisions. It is super helpful for a newish player to understand how to evaluate decisions in both aspects of limited play and particularly helpful to hear you talk through the gameplay decisions. I love your work with Marshall (if you happen to read this comment, please let him know how much I love wristwatch revival as well...for what that's worth) and I love your channel all on it's own.

I started my mtg journey with M10 and lsv was my first content creator I watched. There are a lot of really good content creators out there, but lsv will probably be my favorite forever.

I really appreciate these current-set drafts alongside the cube drafts. As an Arena player, I feel like I learn a lot watching Luis draft and play. Also I'm sorry but I was low-key rooting for that sweet GW Bat Colony deck in game 6, haha.

8:17 So Tarrian’s Soulcleaver is good IF you pick it early. The one draft I’ve done, I took it as a speculative p1p1. I went into a BWr aristocrats-y deck. And both Map and Treasure tokens trigger it. It was the MVP of my draft. I went 2-1. I don’t think I lost a game when I got the Soulcleaver online.

have not been enjoying this format at all, but these were actually surprisingly good matches with a few interesting decision points, especially the last couple of games. I feel like in my games I either steamroll the opponent or get completely steamrolled myself. very fast games, and like half of the rares are completely busted, the other half completely useless.

The format might be in a healthier place in a little while. On release, players of all skill and information levels are in the same draft pods in Premier, since the quick draft queue isn't available for the (on average) less invested players. That results in one or two drafters per pod ending up with hyper-focused decks in the best archetypes, so games play out a little more like constructed. The range of decks people can draft narrows a bit as time goes on, so it's less of "my insane UR artifact deck vs your insane UW tempo deck" etc.

2:21 haven’t finished the full video but you do have an instant/sorcery to rebound. The adventure, AND you get to choose which side you cast for free. Correct me if I’m wrong though 😁

It doesn't rebound sorceries. Great card standalone but it would be nuts if it could do both instants and sorceries.. Especially in standard with the adventures. Virtue of persistence.. etc. and is probably the exact reason why its limited to say instants only.

The soulcleaver is very good, it's creature or artifact including the opponent.when the boards stall out you can move it around cheap and buff a bunch of creatures

48.30 Yeah, the format could really be "fun and interactive" (let's see if someone gets this quote), but aggro decks are just too strong and they can always finish the game off with either flyers or the militia (the card that truly makes this format awful). Also I guess they are stronger in the Bo1 environment (which is awful, but it's what we get these days), but the thing is that in Arena you're not really incentivized to play "Traditional". Love the Cube, but it's nice to see you playing some drafts of the current expansion!

God I fucking hate how best-of-three Limited isn't viable in Arena. You have to go undefeated to get back your entry and it doesn't count towards ranked for the end of season payout. It creates an awful experience with best-of-one where one player could get mana screwed/flooded or you have to play garbage sideboard cards in your main. You don't always need Disenchant (for example) but when you do, you *really* need do.

Is there a way we can get higher ranked games? I've been stuck in platinum for Limited and I've been wanting to get better. It's odd WotC doesn't let people like LSV bypass all the lower ranks and put them straight into Mythic.

If he can get free byes in Grand Prix/World Champ qualifier events, surely it makes sense to bump him up to Diamond on your mobile game? Like imagine being a free to play player in bronze and Jon Finkel has to steamroller your face because WotC won't put him in gold or something 🤣

Ojer Pakpatiq was an awesome part of my Arena Open deck that went 7-0. Turns out rebounding Huatli's Strikes and Drops is pretty good in Sealed 😂

It seems like I'm in the minority here but I've enjoyed this set a lot. Sure the one drops are a bit much sometimes, but it doesn't happen all the time and there's a lot of other really sweet stuff going on too. I've been playing bo3 though so maybe that has an impact.
