Really enjoyed the history behind the funerals and the different caskets available. Creepy to some I'm sure but fascinating to others.

I am sure it is creepy to some but in the not distant past, it was a common occurrence to have funerals in your house. It's ironic we have social media and can broadcast daily events but find death (an occurrence that will happen to everyone) as creepy! Thanks for watching!

Enjoyed the tour, these are things we wouldn't ordinarily see, but it is so interesting. There were so many types of salesman samples, just never thought about them having them for caskets, makes sense though. I have a picture from the 20s, a picture of a baby in the casket. The parents were distant cousins, there baby died, and the picture was taken out side there home just before going to the cemetery, the casket was held up by the parents, in order to take this picture. Great job on the video.

Thank you for watching! That picture was likely the only picture that family would ever have of their baby. It is so sad. We take for granted the technology we have now.

@@HistorySeekers just found out they have a funeral home museum in Texas also. Are y'all familiar with the Medical Museum in Foley Alabama? Might make a good video if you are in the Gulf Shores area.

Those were interesting videos. At first I was reluctant to watch them, but glad I did. There’s a lot of forgotten history there.

Fascinating history. That copper salesman sample with the vault was very cool. Thanks for sharing another interesting piece of history. I'm right here in Iowa and didn't know this existed. Wishing you all the best. Good luck, happy hunting and take care.

Thanks for watching! If you get a chance to stop by, it is definitely worth it! Then drive up North 45 minutes to Waterloo and stop at the Iowa Veterans Museum and check out the displays on the Five Sullivan Brothers 🙂 You can also go to Cedar Falls and check out Iowa's Merci Car (call the phone number on the website and get a personal tour) You will not be disappointed!

Very interesting & informative! The early funeral industry is a seldom talked about subject. I have a friend that owns an older funeral home & has a collection of hearses (he calls them coaches)

Thank you for watching Mary 🙂 You are right, it is just the way it was. There were a great many customs that went along with death we lost over the years. If you are interested you can read about the following: Some houses were built with parlors in mind for funerals Covering of mirrors Stopping of clocks Tear vials Hair jewelry Victorian mourning dress Mourning veils Momento Mori
