the fact it has the spin wheel is amazing and honestly I love that it requires assembly.

I’ve got one of these and I’m not happy with quest version of the software and it’s not your grips that’s messing with the placement of the unit, it’s the software and I’m struggling to enjoy it. Good video though

This is basically the long trusted and well respected X-Arcade Tankstick which has been out for many many years.. I have one myself. Had it for over 10 years.. The only setup you need is keyboard mode.. You bind the keys to keyboard keys that your don't normally use that way they don't get in the way of keys like Enter or ESC etc and then map that layout in game. Once you have all your games mapped to the control panel its set and forget. Using keyboard mode instead of controller/joystick mode will allow you to map those side buttons in game in any game as flippers for any pinball game. This control panel really shines in MAME. Being able to play twin stick arcade games like Berserk or Smash TV etc is excellent. Plus being able to play all the trackball games..X-Arcade moving this to VR is an awesome thing to see. I wonder if getting a standalone dongle would allow the "classic" X-Arcade line of control panels to be adapted to VR also for those like myself that already own one. Cheers for the video. .

This is a really good solution as the applications like Arcade Paradise are really immersive but break as soon as you actually try and play an arcade cabinet within the app. Motion Controllers and even gaming controllers just don't cut it. Thanks for making me aware of it. Something i'll look into!

Always happy when you post a video. Hopefully someone will innovate on the software and drop the price. Arcades here in Seattle are pretty expensive, it's not hard to spend $100 for a night of games. A home solution with tactile feedback would be amazing.

Neat! I had the same feedback about trying some of those arcade center applications like Arcade Paradise. This is a cool solution to that!

Any arcade controller attached to a cheap wheel stand could be a cheaper alternative. But thanks for the video! Have to look into vr arcade and pinball now

Seems like a really nice piece of hardware and them offering mixed reality software to use it with is intriguing.

This is so cool! really good idea.I am sure they may have thought of this, but having a light gun attachment with feedback would make it perfect. I agree i love new retro Arcade but I get a bit of fatigue playing with the Oculus controllers. I think 500 bucks is about right for this, i thought it was going to be like 1000 or 1500. The idea of building your own Arcade is really cool. I tried doing this with new retro and got immediately lost in how to make it work (was trying a multiple light gun machine build) either way really great video thanks!

Why is Chun Li Jackie Chan? I used a PS4 controller for VR Elite Dangie and I was surprised at how well it worked and felt. I suspect that, on PC, Autohotkey might be a huge benefit (and if you play a lot of different kinds of PC games and have oddball hardware, Autohotkey is practically a must). Dongle spaghetti is an upside, not a downside. :)

In the Jacky Chan movie City Hunter there a part where Chan plays various street fighter characters,one being Chun Li.

I have a MAME arcade cabinet. What's interesting about this is that the screen size and aspect ratio can change. For vertical shooters you would have a vertical screen. I wonder if you can use the motion controls for gun games.
@_oBSOLEte_Күн бұрын
EmuVR allows for motion controls as light guns. They've modeled the NES zapper and GunCon and you can play MAME, FBNeo and Flycast with, it's basically Retroarch for VR. More interestingly, most emulators can use mouse as lightgun, so you could easily use Desktop+ or VRDesktop and the motion controls for anything. Couple that with mods to play old games in stereoscopic 3D like helixmod's Geo-11 and you could revisit your old 3D games in proper 3D VR with motion controllers as lightgun.

@Kethra4302 күн бұрын
Games I'm interested in using this are Arcade legend VR for the cabinets. Star Wars VR pinball also, maybe with a mod, it could work with flippers. Or an updated model. Cowabunga collection for TMNT also would be cool, xbox. Also, color options would be nice. Could be a little smaller.

I tried Star Wars VR pinball, but it doesn’t have full keyboard support. But perhaps through some advanced trickery it could be done??

480€ for an arcade stick, are you crazy?
@krollgrend18883 күн бұрын
This arcade stick has two players, which is unusual. It's expensive, but decent fight sticks for a single player cost $100-$200. If the quality holds up, the price isn't too bad. The software was Ben's biggest issue, but software can be updated or modded.
@_oBSOLEte_3 күн бұрын
@@krollgrend1888 You play two players with a single headset? Must be fun. Buttons are not even correctly placed. 40 yos midlife crisis today is buying overpriced plastic eJunk. Not even a Ferrari and a divorce. They know it and that's why scalpers have made the hobby stupidly expensive. And your decent fight sticks wont make you better at the game. But hey at least our guy didn't pay for that.
