tusked helm is just way too slow to be useful past the early game

It really does feel like it's just a bad item. Even in the early game it feels iffy. Ten seconds is such a long time.

Writing this before i watch the video: You better get a Snow Globe to complete the Frozen reference. Edit: well... He looked all over for that Snow Globe, but it was not to be.

According to my Boarrior simulation spreadsheet, this build could have beaten Boarrior very reliably. Your shielding outscales Boarrior's damage, according to my calculation, and you'd go into the sandstorm with them at 80 and you somewhere between 582 and 342 HP + Shield (depending on their Shoe crits) and they'd die to the sandstorm before you do.

Not having damage on a shield build reeeeally kills you against poison and offensive shield builds. Against rush down builds you want health, and you get health from level ups/chocolate/events (if you have a belt on board then that increases the level up health return). Early beast of burden goes hard if you can get it, and so does silk. If you're going for a large single shield build and don't have a source of damage then curio sells the crab claw. Spikey shield isn't great into the later game anyways. Marbles+Uwashi is underated since Pyg doesn't have much speed control outside of it.

(also sorry if this feels like backseating, it's far enough into the series that i don't feel like this is spoiling any cool interaction you would've not seen yet)

Freeze builds on pyg only work once you have snowglobe and booby trap, igloo is also nice Snowglobe is great with tall buildings since it's a 6 second cast for 3 haste triggers to the properties next to it and with atm next to it, it's not too hard to keep it hasted 100% of the time

On that note atm is great to hold onto. Not only is it a 3 second shield item, but it synergizes with tall buildings beautifully and if you merge into an upgrade then you gain the interest from the upgraded form instead of what you would've from normally buying, and it's one of the two medium properties with a trigger (the other obviously being snowglobe).

I want to see a build where you haste charge items and charge your haste items.

Hmm yeah, seems like you need to be either quick enough to win against poison, or heal enough to counter poison to an extent. Poison is one of the easiest things to build around both for vanessa and dooley so you kinda have to expect running into it a few times at least. Also in the first few days, I think the event to increase your max HP for free is huge, usually if my build is a bit slow, and the boost is over 10% of my HP I've been kinda taking it automatically lately, unless it's against really good options. And I'm just noticing this, but pygmalien doesn't actually have that many weapons huh, and even more, in terms of efficient item uses for vineyard and subscraper, you're kinda just looking at washywally bird, haladie and flail. Because, something like fixer upper, sure it has 3 second cooldown, but in terms of item activation counts it's basically the same as 3 small items with 9 seconds cooldown, except more consistent, but purely in terms of activations I think literally any combination of small items from pygmalien would end up being better.

There's always piggles, small items with 3 second CD that can even help you scale. Don't underestimate the piggles. But yeah, in terms of weapons, it's pretty bleak. Docks event for weapons can help though.
