Like i would not compare him to Crownslayer. Because Vigil actually didnt need a lot of thing to fix him. Just make his dawg tankier, and his viability will shot up significanty.

@ She have APSD cap frame so no relic can buff her and her S2 require to be alive and long time waiting, so we needed to defend her so she doesnt die to use S2...And she is a fast redeploy Specialist...

He gets grouped with Crownslayer for the same reason Bowser and Kirby are grouped together in the Smash Melee tier list. When you’re ranking/listing the best/worst characters in the game, of course the two worst ones are going to end up next to each other. Now, I’d personally say that CS is so bad that she’s a “tier below” Vigil (he’s actually rather useful for E0 niche and helpful for vanguard only), but that doesn’t change the fact that he’d always be next to CS in discussion regardless. Him being “pretty useful” to you as a single person isn’t enough to make him good. His skills and utility are all lacking/failures in some capacity that objectively damage his place in the meta.

Tactician is honestly a good enough class that I wouldn't even outright call vigil a bad op, he has enough stats to do exactly what I want him to, like hold back trash mobs, spycheck in chapter 12, cannon bait in chapter 10, for a quote unquote bad operator he's pulled his weight on multiple occasions for me

@ I can see that, but he’s definitely bottom 5 for sure as Kukki said in his video. I use Siege for afk dps+ DP and Shining for boosting defense, so I would personally say that those are good enough utilities to put them in standing above Vigil. Mostly I weigh the value of that niche, and I find the other two more valuable to a common player than Vigil’s niche of enemy hits (since Ethan is free and does it automatically even at E0). Vigil is great in regard to E0 niche so that is nice, but that isn’t really the “common player” experience.

Another reason Vigil did so well against those shielders is because his S3 does a fair bit of arts damage (while blocking). Personally, when I use Vigil, I usually prefer him on S2 for a variety of reasons. But this here was a good showcase of what his S3 can do.

Thought about that, but his skill cycle wasn't fast enough for the later part, as well as the pack's respawn cycle. He still can solo the red shield guy with s1 and chip off the def from the robocop tho.

understandable, i should upgrade wisadel, who has been killing everything on the middle side of the map! (JOKE) this is a great showcase for vigil, though--he shows him as a vanguard who's really nice against shit mobs and can do nicely against one elite mob(just like a majority of the 6* vanguards) i did say one, because he fumbled against 2 of those shield dudes(expected. not everyone can be muelsyse, after all) myrtle being around does make him feel he's generating more dp than usual(?) but tactcians aren't exactly known for good dp gen after all

I actually used vigil's same set up here and he actually did handle those elites, its just that they activated his skill either too early (vigil should be attacking the same enemy as his wolves for faster kill) or too late that his wolves lost lives and got overwhelmed, But anyway not a huge problem since vanguards are not supppose to be facing elite mobs with special abilities eitherway 😂😂

It's kind of amusing that only the second gentleman knew how to use Vigils skills reasonably well. Vigil put in good work, especially against the guys that lose defense with number of individual attacks that S3 deals a bunch of. When blocked by the wolves it's 6 hits per attack and each wolf head deals 2 hits per auto with S3 active. Also what makes him pretty great at the current event removing crystals.

I got vigil from rerun and used him till I got muelsyse. Only muelsyse can be better then vigil. He isn't bad, its just skill issue

Its true Mumu is better than Vigil stat wise, but gotta give credit to Vigil S1 for being afk Dp generation and Wolf Instant Revive. Its littereally what kept me prefer him over her even after fully max her module and mastery

yeah, i think its just a misconception. a bad 6* is as good as most strong 5*. so he isn't useless in any sense. its just the gap between the 5* and a 6* is a lot smaller lol. i haven't played with her yet, but i assume crownslayer is similar. most likely she is still better than projekt red.

The Modules are also a nice consideration Mumu's Module allows her to Clone alot faster, iirc Bagpipe allows her to Clone instantly too. Meanwhile Vigil's Module makes so that the Wolfpack is no longer made of glass, so you can more easily maintain it near max stacks for higher dmg. The extra ATK also helps alot more on his personal dmg because of his multihit S3.

Vigil vs. Slumbering of Sui? WAIT A SECOND -- Ch'alter gives Explosive Dawn a 20% chance to not consume ammo - If you look at 21:30, Wissy gets two free shots. Granted shes wasting them on dogs, but still - that gives Ch'alter something to do in the modern meta comps. giving Wis'adel and Ex Foedere longer skill durations. With 6 ammo, Explosive Dawn has a good chance to get at least 1 extra shot (20% chance to save the ammo)

What is he doing here that Blacknight couldn’t do? I genuinely can’t tell. I find the AOE sleep to be far more useful and viable. Having 3 block for the rocket cars isn’t that big of a buff if I can get close to defeating them anyway without blocking them.

Vigil's Wolfpack has 3x the block, 3x the attack, and 3x the health of Blacknight's Helmet. Plus, Vigil's S3 adds arts damage, x3.

To put this another way; Blacknight is cool, but she's not strong enough for my main squad. She relies on her skill to stand out, whereas Vigil's wolfpack block 3 enemies, and attack 3 times. And having 3 separate health bars, the Wolfpack takes far longer to be knocked out than Helmet. It's only after taking a severe beating that the Wolfpack drops down to Helmet's level of 1 block, 1 attack. _Then_ you factor in the skills. Blacknight is great as the 2nd Vanguard on my 2nd squad. But she she's not quite versatile enough to replace Vigil in my main squad. Vigil also functions as my 2nd Defender and 4th Sniper, covering secondary exits "AFK." Half the time I use a Vanguard's skill, it's entirely for the DP boost, not to kill enemies. I've never _actually_ used Blacknight's Sleep on enemies. Before E2, I barely used Vigil's skills at all. I didn't need to, the way I employed him. The fact that his S3 is useful is literally a bonus. Sometimes, he even gets to use it on enemies. I rarely ever put operators in a squad "because of their skill." I build around traits and versatility, and then pick their best skill based on how effective it will be with my strategies. "Blacknight is better because she has Sleep." Bro, that is entirely _pointless._ That's not what she's _here_ for.
