This is a knife that, had you not reviewed it, I probably would not have given it a second look. I still don't think its going on my "must buy" list, but I can appreciate it a little more. I tend not to like tactical anything when it comes to knives, I tend to like my knives simple. Something like the OKnife Zilla is my sweet spot for folders. But again, I can appreciate what the knife is and the fact that it works. Great review.

I’m going to have to carry my MF2 more and try different hand grips when using it , the knifes build quality is second to none and I really do like it I haven’t given it the pocket time it deserves lol, my Saturday carry will be the MF2 , the Medford and the Mt Laguna , 3 beastly knives lol. That sub-hilt is very different, glad to hear that is something useful and you can get used to. This knife sure slices and stabs well so it really seems to have great blade geometry. I don't think anyone would say this is not an interesting design regardless of if they like it or not.

This is definitely a different design I think having the sub-hilt would drive me nuts between my fingers but can appreciate the different design somebody really thought about. Love your demo you showed the knife off well and I came away feeling better about the knife than going into this review the knife performed well I still don't think it would be something for me but still appreciate it as a whole. I've never worn a ring including a wedding ring and I've tried and I won't wear sandals can't stand them. That's really it for me probably not what you expected I'm weird I know. :) For anybody else that's great. I will give the Wilderness Bowie a chance before the finger choil gets taken off because I'm getting that one regardless !!

I like the looks of the blade but I don’t really care for the handle. I’d prefer either a smooth grip over even slight finger grooves. But that’s just me. It’s a tough looking knife and looks like a tough finish on the blade. Hope you two are having a great weekend brother. 👍👍

Brother totally understand. This kniife is built for military applications , stabbing, it does other things well but I am with you on that if you take this sub-hilt off it is a demon of a knife

Extrema Ratio does something special (probably black magic) with their N690 heat treat. I’ve got an Extrema ratio T-razor with a waffer thin edge and it’s tough as SH*T. Check out some of the DBK boys Extrema ratio videos. They smash some of the knives through frying pans and it paper slicing sharp again after a quick strop.

Extrema Ratio makes very special knives. Glad it's gaining popularity in America too as here in Europe it already supplies tactical knives to 'la crème de la crème' of European Special Forces: from Italian COMSUBIN, to French GIGN and BRI, from Austrian Jagdkommando, to German Seals (sorry German people but I'm from Rome and that name is absolutely unpronounceable to me... too hard lol). I've a small collection of their knives (Caimano Nero, BF2 CD, Col Moschin, Misericordia, Requiem, S.E.R.E. 2 GOI) and absolutely love them all. But since I'm a Patriot, it's very easy to me to support National products, that's why I have Lionsteel, Maserin and Fox knives too. @@BladeWalker77 Ciao, non è che io sia tutto questo esperto, eh... però secondo me gli ER valgono il loro prezzo: sono ottimamente costruiti, solidi, affidabili e, ovviamente BELLISSIMI (almeno per il mio gusto). E' vero che l'N690 non è paragonabile, almeno per tenuta del filo, ai super-acciai tipo MagnaCut, M390 e così via ma se loro usano quasi sempre quell'acciaio un motivo c'è, come mi ha spiegato una persona molto più competente di me sull'argomento: gli ER sono coltelli ad uso prettamente tattico-militare, per cui l'operatore, in un ipotetico teatro operativo, deve avere a disposizione si un coltello sempre efficiente ma anche una lama che si affili facilmente e soprattutto velocemente... non è che può stare tre quarti d'ora ad affilare il suo M390 mentre tutt'intorno piovono bombe e pezzi d'artiglieria 🤣. Ad ogni modo, come avrei notato, i miei ER sono tutti folder e/o pezzi tattici, non ho esperienza con coltelli bushcraft (sono di Roma, di boschi ne ho sempre visti pochini, onestamente) per cui non saprei proprio come si comportano in quell'ambito. Di certo, l'MF1 che hai puntato, è un coltello meraviglioso e sicuramente molto solido come tutti gli ER, a me fa sbavare 🤣. Mi spiace non poterti dire di più sul suo utilizzo bushcraft ma quello che ho potuto constatare avendo altri ER, di cui sono pienamente soddisfatto, lo condivido volentieri con gli amici amanti delle lame. Aww yes your a lucky trooper inside leg stabs or not good, if you disengage the lock, I think it puts all the force straight on the pivot cause the pivot is all that's holding it, having the lock engaged, will put the force on the lock

What's your opinion guys, who makes the best or your favorite knives. Is it the US, Europe or Asia? I tend to like European and US more, than any knife made in Asian countries, with a small exception, about Taiwanese Spydercos, that are probably the best Spyderco made knives. As for factory mass produced fixed blades, I tend to be closer to European makers. Semicustom/Custom, probably US with Europe following.
