As someone who works for a study abroad office at a big university, yes it's a pass/fail system and the grades won't show up for the semester, but you will still receive a transcript of records from HKU. For anybody that wants to apply for graduate programs after finishing their undergraduate studies, the grades you get during your exchange will probably be considered!

@@amandak.4246 Hope so too! I want the students to have fun and experience their exchange to the fullest, but it's also encouraged to be mindful of their grades. Balance is key. Some universities have higher standards when it comes to grading, so it's good to test the waters first. Not to mention, students are "ambassadors" of their home university: it doesn't exactly project a good image to the local students/study abroad office, if many fail their classes (not saying that Tracy is like that, she probably does more than what she shows. Just throwing the information out there in case anyone here is interested to go on an exchange program :))

girl enjoy Hong Kong and all the surrounding cities. When I had a 1 month exchange in Japan, we studied yes, but we were mostly sightseeing and experiencing the culture. I hardly stayed in my dorm unless I was sleeping. Learnt way more Japanese going out and experiencing the city. And looking back after 7 years (holy shit), the traveling was way more valuable than some random class I had in uni. Also, as someone who is working now, nobody cares about your grads in uni and nobody cares how much you studied. Seeing that you are studying business and probably not looking at going into academics, as long as you got your certificate (so please still pass your classes), and have good work (and life) experience, you will be fine. Enjoy your youth and travel as much as you can. The traveling you have now is probably way more valuable for your learning than the lectures you are attending.

this is such a non-stem comment lmao. in my field, that kind of thing does matter. most of my coworkers won't be able to progress very far because of their education. a 1-month exchange was never going to be about academics.
