I am at Texas State right now in my dorm and my experience has been the same. It's hard to make friends and have plans because of the pandemic. I kind of just stay in my dorm, watch Netflix, and do school work. I have literally made one friend while I've been here lol.

I can answer this for you since I also go to TXST currently, there ARE dining halls on campus where you can give your student ID and they let you in as you have a thing called meal swipes (which are prepaid for), and you get a certain amount of meal swipes a week depending how much you spent on your meal plan. So yea there are dining facilities but I often find myself eating out a lot and getting take out because it just seemed more convenient

There is the option to have classes on Fridays. You can choose your schedule but sign up as early as you can so you have more options.
