I think that Mu senses that Yamato is different from the other cats he has met. Yamato is half wild cat and so beautiful. He looks so soft and Mu wants to play with his tail. How funny. Have a blessed day

I’ve had a couple of former ferals as pets. Never discount them. My one girl Snowball was awesome she was daddy’s little girl for the 7 yrs I had her. Lost her at 16 she had been feral and then adopted by an older lady who ended up in a nursing home. My other I’ve had for a few yrs now. He was found in a church parking lot and has earned his name Garfield. He’s a very sweet loving cat but he has a stubborn streak as well. Wouldn’t trade him for the world though. He comes up to and crawls up on my wife she she gets home from work. He will also demand attn from Me at times. Jsut wanting to be held while he grooms my fur (beard).

Mu wants to do what the big kids do. He's like the pesky little brother always following big brother around; doing everything he does to show he's not small or weak. And though Yamato does thump him every now and then, he's not using his claws or teeth. He's being very gentle with the little guy! He remembers what it's like to be small.

I have a cat like Yamato and he's very gentle but I ended up adopting his sister out and then taking her back but the person I adopted her to never got her neutered so she was pregnant when I got her back and my males were so gentle with the babies she had, when the kittens got old enough to sleep away from momma they would cuddle with their uncles and they would all play together, they were a wonderful family.

Very sweet, cute, lucky kitten. We rescued a larger kitten just like him, but with a pink nose. He came into our yard last February and was crying pitifully. He was cold and hungry and in bad shape. We brought him inside and took good care of him. Almost a year later, now, he’s happy and healthy. Rescuing animals is so important! Mu looks happy and beautiful!

For a big cat to move back if in a conflict is VERY UNUSUAL. They will not do this when in a fight. But with this kitten the larger cat stepped back. No threat was felt. Very nice to witness.

This is Yamato’s territory. He knows owner has accepted Mu and is assessing the kitten and not only deciding his involvement but defining their relationship. The kitten is a baby and very innocent. There is much more going on there. Yamato is kind, patient and very self possessed

@@dethkon We are related to cats and dogs both of which can dissemble, that is a fact. My observations are from decades with contact with dozens of cats. Kittens like most mammalian infants are equipped with cuteness. If he is a male that has not been “fixed” and the female is nearby he may well kill the kitten or kittens to get breeding rights. The only thing I anthropomorphize is people and very closely related species. Nothing else even with partial consciousness can be as cruel, devious or cold blooded and we have seen this going back to chimpanzees, it broke Jane Goodall’s heart and puts a hole in the 18th century liberals. Are you a total behaviorist? If so I think you might take another look. How do you explain what you saw?

I do study Philosophy of mind as a hobby (particularly Psychoanalysis and Semiotics along with some linguistics- Saussure, Barthes, Lacan, etc.). I actually believe that what you saw and described IS accurate; I was trying to troll you into saying that animals have the ability for language, abstraction, or signification, because a lot of uneducated people in videos like these will often try to claim that they communicate using complex linguistic signifiers to their pet cat (or something). But I was mistaken as you’re obviously a well educated and knowledgeable person, so there’s no further need for provocation. Good on you, and thanks for teaching me a few new facts. =)

@@dethkon I hate when people use pets as their emotional garbage bags and didn't even talk baby talk to my son though early on spoke simply and certainly displayed support and affection. I always had two cats so they might have some life as themselves. I didn't lack for what I can rightly perceive as real affection. We even played hide and seek ambushing each other. I had other real surprises that assure me that there is consciousness that we can recognize and are akin to. I do firmly believe Darwin is right, hence we can be mentally constructed similarly enough to relate to other species. The term evolution bothers me, people take it as positive and progressive, it simply means change to fit changing situations. I am willing to believe that the Cro Magnums were far more smarter and capable;le than we are now and there is the highly mysterious Boskop skull

Yamato is trying to maintain his dignity, Cats are sensitive about this. He doesn't want his people to think he's NOT dignified. He's not hissing or growling or using his claws. He's just going slow so he doesn't lose face. 😉😋 They twitch their tails to start teaching the kittens how to pounce.
