Hello Sam! Congratulations! I’m so happy for you! May I suggest something? 😊 I have been following an account on Tumblr called Reverthelp, and their Instagram is @revert_help. I have made a couple of revert friends and they mentioned that the admin is a professional life coach who helps them with their questions and supports them through their process. They are really happy with the support they get. They have a really nice community too. Seeing your comment I thought they can be of good use for you as well if you need any information or resources. Do send them a message 😊 best ✌🏻

I'm a white American tattooed convert for just over 7 years now. Wallahi the first few minutes is extremely truthful. I was treated like an outsider in America,m at Masjids by Arabs, Pakistani, Afghani, African etc etc.... Wallahi I didn't feel accepted until I came to North Africa & Middle East. Alhamdulillah. Born Muslims in America want you to follow what they follow or act how they act. I spent many ramadans by myself eating alone. Alhamdulillah Allah swt guided me to Cairo, Egypt. I'm now married and I never have to worry about eating alone even if I'm out in a mall or somewhere by myself.

You made me cry on this one. This is my 5th year being Muslim and now the coronavirus has taken the fact that we can't be at a masjid. I'm married now and have my new born baby. I have my own Muslim family now alhumdulliah but I can remember waking up alone and eating suhoor while my other friends had families and a community around them. I grew up Seventh Day Adventist Christian and after I converted I was told horrible things, not by my family but the church community and pastor who even baptized me. My family accepts me and my wife and baby but dude I remember those days, not even sure if I could get married. Paki and Afghan culture is way different yet have similarities. I noticed they were not open to outsiders especially being Filipino and American. I feel it bro, but I kept strong and always found ways and prayed. But that's not even the eternal struggles we reverts had

I would love to in my local area. i also kind of stuck on how i can tell my childrens class teachers about islam. Theyre lovely people. But I dont know how. With so much happening in the world now i feel like the day of judgements going to come any day now. I feel sad if i dont tell them how beautiful islam is. Same with my neighbours too. How to tell them about islam.
@shariffacarloalandalusia44927 жыл бұрын
Ryoko007 the best thing is to go to your local masjid - get volunteers - and create a sister program where one sister becomes a true sister to a revert. No expiration date. They promise to incorporate this sister into their family as they would their blood sister. Making sure she is never lonely or untaught.

In the United States, some mosques have now started revert support groups in which reverts can come to the mosque and meet other reverts and talk about issues they have and make new friends. While I am not a revert or convert (whichever term you prefer), I was born and raised in a Muslim family, but I never cared for the faith until I was a sophomore in High School. Yet I still went through the same trails as Omar Esa mentioned in this video. My family is Muslim, but they are not accepting of me because I try to be a Muslim by action, not just by name. Allah help us. Ameen.

I agree many Muslims don't understand the hardships and sacrifices reverts make for Allah and don't help them learn and understand. I'm a young Muslim sister that helped a young man revert to Islam and I tried to help as much as I could and I started to get emotional attached so I have cut contact to minimal and have gave him advise on what to use to learn and where to go such as mosque and In Sha Allah in a couple years when I am older I am able to marry him as he is working hard to get to me to ask for marriage please brothers and sisters make Dua it happens I feel Allah has already accepted it but I'm not sure if my parents will. As he's a revert I will do everything in my power to help him and make it easy for him so he loves Islam and everything Allah told us to do. I wish to help many that come to this religion as they are like new born babies and follow everything Allah has commanded us to as well as what pleases Allah greatly May Allah bless us all with knowledge and the eagerness to help others no matter if they are new Muslims 😊❤

@RighteouSinner7 жыл бұрын
You know.. I was born in a Muslim family but always felt like a revert especially since I only actually learnt about Islam properly in Ramadan 2012 after teaching myself to pray. I have lost faith a lot due to the Muslims themselves making me feel unwanted, especially my own family in recent times. Alhamdulilah it was after stepping into the mosque for Eid and seeing how much hate the community had towards me that made me fall and close to the edge.. Until Allah called out and caught me. Once I decided to open the Qur'an and actually read page from page in English I felt it speak out to me in such a way that I haven't been the same since. My faith has strengthened so much more and I honestly am going to make a video on religious hypocrisy from what Islam itself teaches! I always had faith in my heart but it was people who made me think and feel otherwise. I reached the bottom and there was no hope.. But the light of Allah opened my heart once again 😊

Allahu Akbar. Brother Omar, may Allah SWT reward you immensely for this. It's opened my eyes. How many times do we born-Muslims actually empathise with our revert brothers and sisters? Wallahi we got Islam on a golden platter, that's why we don't value it! They had to go through so much to just get to the point of taking their Shahadah, and the struggle continues. Perhaps many of us don't realise it, but once upon a time, our ancestors were also reverts. The reason why we were born into Muslim families was because someone up there accepted Islam and went through these very struggles! May Allah SWT strengthen all our revert bros in Imaan and everything which is good. And may He SWT grant us born-Muslims to truly accept our revert brothers and sisters as our real family. Ameen Thumma Ameen

Asalaamu Aleikum. As a revert this hits the nail on the head brother. I was told to avoid the mosque by the Sheikh because the other muslims would confuse me, my family loved me and supported my decision but they feared I was being brainwashed. Over 12 years later now Alhamdulillah I am happily married with kids and my family understands more now, but the beginning days the Ummah didn't embrace me the way they all said they would. My friends and family told me I was difficult because I wouldnt do the same things anymore. DIdnt want to be around alcohol, couldnt eat their food, didnt want to go out and freemix. My father feared wearing my headscarf put a target on my head for racist/prejudiced people to attack or discriminate. He still worries when I travel. A lot of people ask why I reverted. I have many reasons, but one of them at the time was I was promised the Ummah wasnt like the people at the churches who made me so uncomfortable. They said they werent judgemental, werent hypocritical, and would welcome me with open arms, ready to help me answer questions. That I would find new friends easily. Well, I didn't. I still struggle to find good Muslim friends. My circle is very small. I find that people are people, and that its human imperfection no matter what faith people claim, but OUR faith OUR ISLAM shows us the right way. May we all stay steadfast on the right path, and become the good example our Ummah was meant to be. May we all make Rasulullah proud.

When I took the shahada at my local masjid here in California, only a few nice handful reached out to me after and gave me hugs and they cried. I know in Islam there is no sects and only one ummah. But to be honest the people who opened their arms to me and were more accepting defined themselves as Shia. I found that special that even tho we may have different views on certain things that they embraced me because I braced Islam. The other who defined themselves as Sunni didn't really care. But as I say again we are all one ummah and from my eyes Shia Sunni Sufi we are all Muslim. Ameen

This is so true for many of us reverts. I used to be very sad after experiencing rejection after rejection after rejection in Muslim community. I changed the way I think about the above issue of loneliness and isolation in Muslim community. I turn to Allah swt and He swt comforts me. He swt is always there for me. He never left me alone. The test of being forgotten by everyone is tough but I know that I came into this world completely alone and will leave this world completely alone. Noone from Muslim community will be there for me to support me in my grave. So Alhamdulillah. I am grateful to you my Lord for the lack of support in Muslim community. Alhamdulillah you made me more connected to You and made me rely on You only during tough times.

They don't consider us real Muslims from day one...some if them are waiting for when we will abandon. It's sad... but alhamdulillah..there are some really good brothers and sisters that offer you their houses, food, time.. I listened painfull words when I reverted.. but the most painfull came from Muslims because I never expected from them.

This is so true! This is a lot of what it’s like... this struck a chord with me. I love being a Muslim but you realise not everyone is your friend. And there’s so much culture stuff that’s nothing to do with Islam! Revert sisters get left behind who have children because brothers don’t seem to realise it’s a sunnah to marry a woman with a child/children because of silly cultural stuff... I’m fortunate to have a good support network. Fasting is hard and no reverts should be left behind in our deen at anytime especially during the holy month of Ramadan. may Allah keep us all steadfast ☪️

Jazakallah Khayran walahi this really nailed it for me. Only thing missing was when they make you feel like an outcast at the masjid. Don't return your salams, give you the quick Salam and bounce or the look at you like your a outsider. Most of the time I pray at home. Ramadan and eid just been alone all the years. After a while I just read and learn things on my own. It's like everyone is so busy. Sad things is most reverts leave Islam because of this. It's not like we can go back to our mom's our dads and be like teach me. We have to work twice as hard to learn about Islam. We have to proves ourselves twice as much to our ummah. Do you know what is like when the whole room is speaking in Arabic or African dialect can't understand anything but yet have the khutbah in Arabic then English. The cliques go to they area and the reverts stands alone. That's a trip to the masjid every time. Brothers then wonder why we rather do our prayer at home instead of the Masjid. Do you know how many reverts don't even go to Jummah they stay home and just do Duhr or watch a virtual Khutbah? Do you know how many reverts don't even know how to pray? Take shahada here the Quran kifu thikr beads and prayer rug like what are we suppose to do with that and that's at least now I didn't even get a Quran when I took shahada luckily I found whyislam online that sent one to new Muslims but that was about it. Now you got KZbin and all before you didn't even have that only thing I got 5 years later was Islam belief and teachings by Ghulam Sarwar. New Muslim guide wasn't written yet I learned from watch guideustv Sheik Yusuf Estes, Zakir Naik and Sheik Ahmed Deedat. Now that I'm older I'm involved with MAS and ICNA reverts group. Being a revert in Islam is a cold and lonely path. If your a revert and your alone reach out to ICNA or MAS. You can also reach out to me and I can point your to either or in your area. You don't have to be alone anymore Insha Allah.

unfortunately this is my experience. I have taught myself what I know about Islam. no one wants to help teach me. recently Alhumdulillah my husband has sat and read Quran with me. My mother disowned me years ago because I became Muslim, she wasn't even there for me when my son died last year. my hardship is real. no one from Islam has anything to do with me. No one even talks to me at the Mosque. I stopped going

During the whole video, I felt like crying as I am not even a convert and I went through some of those trials. However, the Quran is clear, believers will be tested. The Quran is also clear on this Ummah being one, it's time for Muslims to treat one another as One Ummah.

Hello Sadhana! I’m so happy and excited for you and I can relate to your situation 😊 May I suggest something? I have been following an account on Tumblr called Reverthelp. Their Instagram is revert_help. I met a couple of recent revert friends they mentioned to me that the admin is a professional life coach, who helps them with their questions and supports them through their process. They even mentioned that the team arrange someone for them to teach Arabic. They are very happy with the support they get and they have a very nice community. Seeing your comment, I thought they might be very helpful for you as well. 😊 Do hit them up, Best ^^

Reverts are steadfast in religion and they have Eman as they have sacrificed the dunya. A revert man married to a born muslim, will certainly encourage his wife to become a better muslim and vice versa. May Allah grant patience to all my revert brothers and sisters, Wallahi I wish i had a revert neighbour.

Muslims shouldn’t break their promises and it’s not a problem if your reverts,it is against Islam to be making a person feel like that.Islam teaches you to have a good heart(pure and loving)and the one who have true knowledge of the Quran would follow it.we all ummah(who are in Islam no matter what background)should follow the sunnahs of the prophet Muhammed (sallaAllahu Alaihi wasallam)and it’s our responsibility to make everyone feel included.please bless Prophet Muhammed (sallaAllahu alaihi wasallam) a 1000times.Ameen✨

Sometimes people with the worst pasts have the best futures. I believe Umar said a thing along these lines, radhiallahu anhu (may Allah be pleased with him). My beloved brothers and sisters, may peace be upon all of you. Let's let this be a lesson for all of us. None of us is above one another, except in taqwa. Not one of us knows who that is, except Allah, and we should treat eachother as such. Reverts, if Allah has forgiven them, then who are we to judge? Their value is not defined by our perspectives of who they are. So, should we not try our utmost best to treat them with excellence? Who are we to deny the honour that Allah gave us to teach or advice them, from the surety of our good knowledge, and in accordance of the time and place? Let's let this be a lesson, my beloved brothers and sisters. We are all awesome, we just need to realize it Insha-Allah. May Allah give us all jannathul firdaus May Allah give us all jannathul firdaus May Allah give us all jannathul firdaus Ameen.
