This Savannah consists of large areas of flat lands which are used mainly for Rice and Cattle Farming for many years and where some farmers built their homes. It's a quiet and peaceful place with the few homes.
This place is far from the loud sounds of Jack-Hammer breaking roads, heavy Vehicular Traffic with Blowing Horns, Loud Music, Night Clubs, Emergency Vehicle Sirens, and people cursing each other for Parking Space, Land Space and Fence.
The farmers also grow other crops and fish in the many canals. There are dangerous snakes around, so you have to constantly scan the area around you.
Houses are built so the rainwater flows into large water tanks. This rainwater is used for Drinking, Cooking, Washing Dishes, Clothes, Bamsey (the fleshy part of the human body that you sit on), and other daily uses.
This place is far from Places of Worship, Hospitals, Supermarkets, Stores, Cake Shops, Taxis, Buses, Post Offices and other offices. Schools are also not near so the kids have to do some travelling. Some of the kids turn out to be farmers like their parents.
The farmers have Electricity, Cell Phones, and TV, but TV is not a big deal. News spread quickly like wildfire by the old saying, "Peter tells Paul, and Paul tells all." News spread so quickly, that people in Sydney and Montreal heard before people in Diamond and Essequibo.
Beside the downside, I love it here because it is quiet, peaceful, and you get fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, and fish. Waking up here, you feel healthy, energized and lively because the air is also fresh and clean.
If not all, most people here are friendly and helpful. God will always bless these talented farmers for going that extra mile, working long hours, going up and beyond, working as a team in rain, hot sun and being dedicated towards their work to produce crops not only for themselves but for the entire nation and also for export.
