Once again it shows that AEW's ability to take a feud, long since passed, re-ignite it, and blow the roof off the arena. Their continuity is so well done. Their writers and "historical" staffers are amazing with bringing us back some great feuds. They don't just throw 💩💩 against the wall to see what sticks, they KNOW their wrestlers histories, and they KNOW HOW to write and again re-ignite a absolutely awesome feud!

I think it comes down to the people involved, because there is absolutely precedent for AEW just throwing shit against the wall and seeing what sticks, like Mogul Affiliates, Miro's Best Man gimmick, the 5 seconds Chavo Guerrero was Andrade's manager, pretty much everything Ethan Page has ever been involved in, and the entire woman's division. But when you get 2 people who have genuine history, and they find a way to build on that history, typically AEW handles it well. Though, you could say WWE has taken a page from AEW's playbook in that respect with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens as of late, which is sort of a success of AEW's part, forcing WWE to acknowledge history outside of itself the way AEW does.

They did the same thing before AEW was even a thing with Kevin Owens turning on Sami Zayn in NXT and then Sami Zayn turning on Kevin Owens on the main roster. They only recently went back to Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens joining together since Kevin Owens was out for 6 months after a loss to the Tribal Chief, whom he lost to again more recently.

The only other time I feel like it ever happened was with AJ Styles, with the reference to the IWGP title, otherwise I feel like with guys like Seth Rollins and so on before 2019 they just pretended never did anything before the performance center

I love in-ring storytelling breakdowns. So many people look over great in-ring storytelling but the best wrestlers use it all the time to give you a look at what they are thinking without having to say a word. And even the most astute watchers can miss important stuff like that in the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd watch of the same match before they finally realize "Oh that's why they did that. That's actually brilliant!" Amazing work. I hope we get more videos like this. And I hope Tony Khan gives Tim Donst a shot on Dark/Elevation or something someday soon. I miss that guy & I saw he was still wrestling a year or two ago.
