That was marvellous, I've been there myself Donny. My only dissapointment is that you didn't stop off at Tigh an Truish, in order to change ! Maybe it's just as well. Thanks for posting.

I might have lost my way stopping too long there ashley ..a tin of brewdog by the boat would do my wallet much better ..but not on such a cold day.. or I might end up with wet legs 😲

Ah, Donny...you've done it again! Stirred up my memories of my early years cruising the West Coast. I've been through Cuan Sound many times, and walked over the Bridge Over The Atlantic a few times too. One time, many, many years ago, while cruising in company with another yachet, we anchored in Puilladobhrain on a grey day, and there were a dozen yachts there that day. A group of us walked over to Clachan Seil intending to have afternoon tea in the hotel, to find on arrival that a wedding reception was on the go there. About to turn back, we were hailed by the groom, who insisted we join the party, and folks shuffled seats to find space for our party of 6. Moments later, a lady appeared from the kitchen area and called out to the assembled horde "Now, who's for tea?" pause for a count of hands...and a few seconds later "and who's for coffee?"...pause... "aye, the teas have it!" Thus, tea we had! I loved the simplicity of those years...no marinas, you had to anchor, ( a bit of a lost art, methinks), and going ashore always meant taking the water carriers to fill up at a stream or well following the instructions in the CCC handbook. One more anecdote...in Tobermory one time I went ashore with my Mum for some shopping. It was early July and the season of the Ayrshire potatoes, then considered sublime eaten with a knob of butter. In the Co-op she asked for some potatoes which were duly placed in a brown paper bag (no single use plastics in those days!). Mum asked the chap "Are they Ayrshires?" "Ocht, no" he replied..."Ayrshire's a long way from here!" Mum then enquired "Oh, so where are they from?" He replied... "Cyprus!" Sorry to ramble again, Donny! Thanks for another amazing video and fabulous drone footage showing the area so beautifuuly and as I have never seen it before.

Thanks for your memories Colin ..I was an Ayrshire lad so know my tatties too. My father used to tell my mother ..dont get them Cyprus ones ..they fertilise the fields with human manure to get rid of it and to make the tatties grow 😲

Thahks terence.. and I also saw your comment of Falls of Lora video..it was a very high tide that weekend so you saw it in good form. My bigger boat is still stored for the winter and I wouldnt go near it on a "black" tide day with the wee F Rib and 6HP 😲Shame the weather was not a bit better for you though

Hello Donny, and well done with another cracking video. Pleased you done this journey because when I took wor lass and dog for a boat ride to Easdale, she spotted the Bridge and asked if we could go that way, but the tide wasn't near high tide so we left it alone and continued to Easdale. That's where the dog decided to eat part of a jellyfish. We left straight away and got him to the vets. What a day. Really enjoyed watching. Atb Steve 👍

Hi Donny. Your drone seems to be like a border collie, never gets enough exercise! I have been lucky enough to do some rib adventures around Arisaig skerries and learnt from your videos…a lot. Also have to admire how you plan and work with tide and wind, lots of tides there, like Cuban, and very interesting over falls etc. Just about to watch your latest vid. Thanks.

great video as always Donny, Just wondering would you of got under the Atlantic bridge with the Gunnard? Been there a few time thought of you every time because I've seen you in a few video's there. On your first take off in this video you show properly the smoking area of the pub therewith great views and great atmosphere at night time really warm and friendly. Ray K UK YNWA.
@donnywilcox10 ай бұрын
Yup..at high tide its ok Ray ..even in the gurnard ..or a bigger RIB if its not a neep tide..but miss the tide and its stuck. Shallowest are is the northern entrance ..so get past it and you are ok ..unless you stop in the pub..and get caught on falling tide 😀
