I hate the ending message: Go with your gut. Starlight's whole problem is that she goes with her gut without thinking about consequences, not that she ever gets what's coming to her. Seriously why doesn't ANYONE call her out for what could be considered assault or high treason? Just because someone doesn't agree with another doesn't give you the right to force your will over there's. No, Celestia only raised the Moon in those thousand years. We know from the Christmas Play episode that all it takes is massive amounts of magic. However, only the pony with Luna's cutie mark can go into the Dream Realm. When ponies had nightmares in that time, they were just screwed.

This is like the seventh time Starlight has learned that magic can't solve everything and communication is the better option. And everyone always criticises Twilight's actions but not Starlight's when she deserves criticism more, because 9/10 times her impulsiveness backfires. Why doesn't anyone call her out on this? Is it because no one want's to admit that Starlight is boring compared to everyone else, and she hasn't changed as much as everyone thinks she has? Because I see that she clearly hasn't.

I enjoyed this episode mostly just because of the fact we received a lil insight into celestia which is nice to have after seven seasons of her doing nothing. Some of the interactions with her and Luna in this were genuinely enjoyable but I do agree that starlight was kind of just wedged in like a stale lemon on a cocktail.

Honestly, the reason I like this episode isn't even because of Starlight. I fact, I don't care for her as a character. It's because of the character development of the two royal sisters, and the fact that they fight like they're sisters. I also found it to have funny moments, especially with Luna frowning in the newspaper and Starlight shoving the ballerina Twilight statue into a drawer. I'd say it's one of my favorites of the season so far.

Honestly kind of pathetic how the sisters needed to call upon the worst character to help them with their dilemma instead of someone competent and actually good at communicating. As some people have said before me, Starlight REALLY needs to learn that you can't fix everything with magic. There were some things to this episode I liked, though. For example, getting to see what Celestia and Luna do during their days was kind of nice. It gives them more life than just sitting around in the castle looking pretty. And I'll admit, getting to see a Celestia version of Nightmare Moon was pretty damn sweet. The emo joke Day Breaker cracked about Luna had me laughing. On a side note, though, someone really needs to help Twilight with her constant nervousness. Give her some meds or something, damn.

Personally Lily, I would've wanted to see Luna's teeth get pulled out by the foals while they chant "The smile's too wide..." and if there were a better rhyme then have it added. Headcanon Answer to your question at 1:27. She only raised the moon during Luna's Imprisonment. With her Magic being different than her sister she couldn't walk in dreams or fight nocturnal beast (I think that Luna kept the Everfree Forest from being "overgrown" explaining their old castle.) for the simple fact is she didn't know how or simply forgot what her sisters real role was besides the aforementioned Moon raise.
