Only the fans losing this I feel sorry for the city of Oakland that stadium needed torn down 20 years ago. The MLB commissioner is an idiot.

All these people so sad are the same people who stayed home and made it easy for 30 MLB owners to vote for relocation.

Move them back to Philadelphia. The REAL home of the Philadelphia A's!

The Athletics still have fans in Philadelphia. When they introduced interleague play, the Athletics returned to Philadelphia for the first time in a long time not to play the Red Sox or the Yankees, but to play the Phillies. The turnout was huge, indicating that many people in Philly still remembered the Athletics. At least that's the only explanation anyone can come up with for the huge turnout. The move of the Athletics out of Philly was apparently promoted by the Yankees, largely because of the dangerous north Philly neighborhood where the Athletics played. The Yankee management had nightmares about Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra being gunned down in mob wars.

How could anyone leave the " Diamond City" ,the most beautiful place in the world that was created by the citizens, the local leaders, and the biggest wrecking ball humans ever created -- themselves.

Kansas City entrepreneur, Charlie Finley, bought the Philadelphia Athletics and moved them to Kansas City. After 15 years, he moved them again to Oakland. Finley later said that moving the Athletics to Oakland was the biggest mistake of his life. He should have stayed in KC. I guess they can't go back to KC. KC now has the Royals, a successful franchise, and KC is presumably too small to support a second team.

Crime and Democrat indifference destroyed Oakland’s financial base and their once great teams.

Yeah, blame the Dems! The mark of a truly immature buffoon. So childish, you can’t even use adjectives correctly. I know you think it makes you sound cool, but you just sound like a first grader. I could send you hundreds of images of REPUBLICAN urban blight and you’d blame the Dems again hahaha. All of this league’s most valuable teams are in DemocraTIC run cities, whose problems are much less worse than the hellhole homesteads you call cities.

It's Oakland's own fault for being a stool hole city. I don't blame the owners for leaving
