Assalamualaikum, my brothers and sisters.
This is Day 9 of our sacred journey, dated 22 Nov 2024. This day we visited the Rawdah which was located inside the Prophet’s Mosque.
Rawdah means “The Garden”. Rawdah is between the Prophet’s (SAW) resting place and his minbar or pulpit.
It’s also a place of immense spiritual and historical significance. The blessed place contains six pillars. Also known as the Sacred Pillars, these six are marked by large green circles with gold inscriptions which specify what each pillar means. Two of the pillars were inside the Sacred Chamber where the Prophet (SAW) and his two companions were buried. However they are inaccessible to the public. It’s also a place where your prayers are answered and blessing are bestowed.
We also pay a visit to the Al-Baqi Cemetery. Also known as Jannat al-Baqi, it’s a large cemetery located next to the Prophet’s Mosque, which was reportedly founded by Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It served as a burial place for many of his relatives, companions, as well as his children and wives, except for his first wife who is buried in Mecca.
These includes some rules and leaders. They were buried there as their wish. There are many other respected Muslim from throughout the history of Islam been buried here.
