I just checked on Rock Auto, because they have an easy to use website, and a new Motorcraft master cylinder is $110. A new Motorcraft power brake booster is $215, and a Cardone rebuilt one is $175. My mother had a situation after we had been out in my car, came home, had to move the cars around. My mom started her 83 Reliant, and when i looked up from my car she was across the street, up on the concrete wall, and had hit the home across the way slightly - this could have been driver error, but the mechanic also found where the brake booster had been leaking internally, and said that may have caused a runaway condition AND diminished braking - and she had a very short distance to react. I have been concerned that perhaps some of the accidents attributed to driver error on the elderly may actually be parts like this that may wear differently due to the cars no longer being driven daily, and perhaps sitting for a few days or a week at a time - had the car repaired, never had this happen again.

Why should his family do without and not receive any income from his time knowledge and tools? Your so special that the technician and dealership owe you? Do you get free products and services from Walmart? Remember you don’t pay a technician for what he does, your paying for what he knows. A good technician ain’t cheap. NA V8 will have more than twice the useful life. Your probably better off modifying your own engine with strengthening and an aftermarket turbocharger and learning to do the maintenance yourself than most of the factory turbo cars from the manufacturers. The BMW turbo motors barely last 100K miles and almost all their cars have turbos now. The Ford V8 isn't as stout as the GM but the overhead cam sound is so much better than over head valvers

Interesting tidbit I found on youtube - I have a 99 Mustang six, and according to one youtube channel, you can push the trip meter (in the speedometer area) turn the key without starting the car (if I remember right) and the mileage display will show all sorts of data on the car, test the instrument panel bulbs, etc - I love this! On my old 87 Dodge Daytona, if you turned the key 5 times without starting it, the power loss light would flash a code - normally code 55 for all is well - which was 5 slow flashes, and 5 quick flashes - any other code shown could be looked up as to what it meant.

WRONG!...(maybe). Common problem is the hydraulic control unit and ABS seals stick with no codes. It comes from very old brake fluid. (Most mechanics do not change the brake fluid during a brake job). Brake fluid is only good for about 5yrs or 60K. Try bleeding entire brake system and give it time for new brake fluid. Problem may go away........or yeah, change the wrong parts like booster and they'll have to put new brake fluid in and problem will go away..for awhile. Love your vids Scotty!

Scotty, Scotty, you got to change the master cylinder. I've worked on cars professionally since 1960 and master cylinders are always going out. I have a Ford, a 2006 Focus 2.0 duratec with 127k miles, never really had any issues since I bought it for £550 in 2017 where it had around 90k miles. Just the usual tyres, just fronts, rears are still fine and I replaced the brakes all round. I did have one little problem where it kept stalling, no engine light or fault codes. I did the usual changed the spark plugs, checked the coils, cleaned the throttle body. It was still stalling and no better, something made me think.a sensor might be going bad but why no fault codes! Strange thing was it ran fine at start up and idle, only cut out after it warmed up and went for a short drive. First one I checked was unplugging the electrical connection to the EGR valve, it ran spot on, no stalling! Guess what, it threw a fault code!! I left it like that for over a year, fully intending to replace the EGR valve but apart from the engine code light it was running spot on. When I did replace it, I figured out the EGR valve would stick in the open position when activated, hence the stalling. So Fords don't always show a code when a sensor or module is going bad!

looks like you could see brake pressure on the scan tool while braking, most mastercylinders are divided into two different sections so you have dual system, so if one fails half the brakes still work, so you could hold the brakes while viewing the readings each section to see if the pressure is going down while holding the pedal steady, this would verify the fluid in the master cylinder is bypassing the orings inside of it,
