A Sad Update | This Shouldn't Have Happened....

So sorry about your bunny ! I have had rabbits and had a couple things happen that we're preventable had I known...lost one bunny because it ate too much cabbage...I learned don't give cabbage . The second thing I lost one to was it was in it's cage eating grass on the ground and I was in the garden on the other side of the yard my dog went over to the cage and started barking right beside the cage I ran over to stop her and the bunny was laying flat...yes it had a Bad fright and had a heart attack. Learned not to put them in the sun either even with a house it can get too hot and Bam!! So those are my experiences and things happen that we sometimes can't help I sure learned a lot though. Love your lights in the goat barn so pretty 💜😍😊

Sorry for your loss ! know what you mean about kind of getting used to loss on homestead / farm life. The first time we lost a chicken I ugly cried for just days. And now we have around 50 chickens and 5 alpacas and then a few inside pets and, the loss of a chicken is sad but no longer like, TRAGIC.

I'm sorry for the loss of the bunny. Hoover Hatchery is here, in Iowa, and all of my girls...and my roo, lol...have come from them. They and Murray McMurray Hatchery are within a couple of hours of me! Both great hatcheries! I have a Prairie Bluebell Egger and love her!! Blessings to you and your family and your Homestead!!

I’m so sorry about your bunny...my daughter kept rabbits for a time and we suffered some losses as well...it’s harder for pets, but inevitable in the end. That’s still the biggest birthing box I’ve ever seen!🥰

Oh my. I’m so sorry!!! I breed to show bunnies. English lops. Was just at PaSRBA convention successfully. I’m from Canada. Anyways my star was at home with a litter of babies when I was away. If anything happened to her I would be heartbroken. My heart goes out to you greatly. They steal your heart those buns. It is a sad situation. I feel bad for your loss. 🙏

So sorry about your bunnies. It is hard sometimes. My fifteen year old bulldog Pie had a small stroke Sunday, it caused some balance issues but she isn’t in any distress or pain. I am thankful for that. She’s already showing improvement so we are hopeful. As always you guys are in my prayers. If you have a minute please throw up a quick prayer for my Pie. I just lost a silkie hen I have had for years. I went out to feed the chickens and found her dead. She was in with an injured hen as a companion and she was just laying there dead. It hurts but it is part of farm life. I understand! Jen, you will love those Blue Bells, they grow up looking beautiful! Some of mine have muffs but the hens are simply beautiful colors. I got 2 yellow like yours that grew up white, I ended up with a surprise rooster and he is gorgeous!

Aw I'm sorry! We had triplet goats once. One was smaller and boy we nursed her for about 10 days to 2 weeks and came out on morning and she had died. It is hard. Part of the life cycle. Still difficult and hurts. Aw they are so cute!!

I had to deliver a breech kitten once for a first-time mom, just eternally grateful that I was right there - the cat was in the house - and realized the problem. My goats and milk cow NEVER give birth with me there, it drives me nuts just because of the possibility of problems. God be with you.

I just ordered some Prairie Bluebell eggers from Hoovers! Can't wait to get them. It will be fun to watch yours grow. Mine don't arrive until Valentines day. I'm sorry to hear about your mama bunny. We got two rabbits a couple years ago. The people we got them from didn't know the sex. Needless to say, now we have 7 rabbits. All the males have been neutered. :) We don't need anymore rabbits because we also don't use them for meat.
