I have not been up Bowman's Hill Tower in a very long time, not since my parents took us up in the mid-1960s. I knew then that it was a paid admission attraction: 75 cents for adults and 50 cents for children (under 18). The parks are operated by each state, and in New Jersey, admission is charged from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A nice little tour, thanks!

This was a great tour, thank you for taking the time to show us everything. My first time seeing where the crossing took place. SO COOL! And yes, sorry, but I internally giggled watching you be scared of heights, Im the same way, only you are braver.

I've been going there since I can remember. In the 1970's we used to walk up the hill and then walk up the spiral staircase to the top of the tower. It was free to go up back then. Now there's an elevator and you pay. I still walk up the hill, but I have to take a different route since they put a deer fence around the wildflower preserve back in the 1980's. It's a nice little park, and right along the Delaware Canal and the river.

Appreciate the closing frame with the statue & flag, Cap. Working in some artsie-fartsie production value now that you're Hollywood. Watched The Turnaround this past weekend and really enjoyed it. Very heartwarming and super important messaging. Thank you for all you do.

We are in a drought for sure, my backyard rain gauge in Delaware County hasn't seen more than 1/10 inch of ran since the first week of August. No rain in the 10 day forecast, so it seems we will go at least 3 months without rain here. Looking at the website for the PA park, it's a state park, not federal.

Last time I went up Bowman's tower it was just a metal staircase around the open inside of the tower. THAT was scary.

Immediately across the river is Goat Hill and Washington's rock. Apparently, local patriots used the rock to keep an eye on any movement of the British and Hessians in the area. You can see New Hope from there. Near Goat Hill is Baldpate Mtn. You can see Manhattan on a clear day.

Philly Captain inquiring minds need to know. In your inimitable seer, soothsayer, and sage mystical and borderline divine way, please tell us about when George Washington crossed the Delaware river in icy cold conditions, did his teeth chatter and sound like wood or like ivory, not to mention the powder that fell from his hair? Now would of you actually performed a death-defying stealth camping event and suddenly you found Steven Willis was already occupying the ramshackle lean-to, full of little maple leaf flags and eating ketchup flavored potato chips while having improvised chili , what would plan b be? And Captain we shall never confuse this George for that George: Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie, Kissed the girls and made them cry, When the girls came out to play, Georgie Porgie ran away.... Many thanks for keeping the leaf-peepers blissed out.
