Orban is right, EU must change the sanctions. Let Hungary do as much business with russia as it wants by expulsing it from EU. Of course this would mean that Hungary cannot get any products like microchips and weapons that are withing sanctions, but that should be a small price for being able to simp putin without limitations. A little context for the protests in Abkhazia: This started back in June 2024 with the Abkhaz government not passing the so-called Apartments Law which would have allowed foreigners to buy land and homes in Abkhazia. The concern at the time was that if the law was passed Georgians with joint Russian citizenship would start buying land in Abkhazia. Abkhazians really don't like Georgians (long story). Abkhazia is heavily dependant on financial support from Moscow. In September it was announced that Russia has stopped all social funding (which pays for schools, hospitals, etc) and Abkhazia would have to pay market prices for electricity and fuel imported from Russia which had been subsidised. Aslan Bzhania is faced with a dilemma; either give in to Putin's demands and see his country sold off one small piece at a time risking the ire of his people OR stand up to Putin and see his people descend into poverty.
