The flip-down Scharfenberg coupler makes the front SO ugly. Could they not have added a cover panel of some kind?

Thanks for viewing . That coupler is needed to be able to pull Pendolinos & other units it might look ugly but its there for reason . Some 57s have had it removed and the front covered over .

Great video, can see the family resemblance in the class 47,56,57, & the class 69.

Thanks for viewing . The class 57 is a class 47 which has had a new engine new electric and many other new parts the new class 69 is a class 56 which like the 57 has many changes to it .

So let me get this straight, a Class 57 is basically a 47 with a 66 engine?

Thanks for viewing . The class 57 is like you a class 47 with new electrics and engine made by General motors by the engine has less power than a class 66 .

@@keynsham-trains It's a similar story from their home country, the 66 engine being in the newer SD70 with the 57's engine being in the older SD40.
