Great haul Steve. I love watching you get excited about all these books. I particularly like the HG Wells book full of science fiction stories. I have collected several of his books in recent years and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Thanks for sharing.

You could write a biography of JA Symonds?? That would be such a spectacular combination of subject and biographer! Ive been bobbing into his Renaissance In Italy from Project Gutenberg for a while now. Both you and him have convinced me to read Orlando Furioso soon!

Was fortunate enough to score that same HG Wells edition, havent seen it anywhere else till now. Nice finds, as usual.

I'm trying hard not ro be jealous of J A Symonds book on Dante. I have his book on Shelly, and 2 volumes on the Renaissance. I used to have a book by him on Larin, which I couldn't find the other day ao I don't know what has happened to it. Another benefit of an ereader is thatthousqnds of books are searchable and this findable in seconds. I checked Symonds on Project Gutenberg and there is quite a bit there, but no Dante, so you've not paid for something you could download for free. The Dante volume seems to to as rare in the UK as in the USA.

How many books have you written? Also could you tell me some of the titles you have written? Thank you.

I'm surprised that the staff at the Brattle don't put aside any Erasmus books for you, what if someone else had bought it!

Steve I was looking at Amazon and found another copy of you new Erasmus book with Holbein's pictures. ($31.00) could you tell from looking how many of your pictures were actually there and approx how many had been cut out ? I am thinking that I might need this book as a present to myself even though it is $30.00. I also squealed at the one about Dante....I am desperate to hear your thoughts about that that one when you are finished with it!! Thanks much, Lee !

You want an acid-free paper to preserve the cover.

The Japanese people follow this rule #1, no-one will get on the train until other people get off. The Chinese are very different, before you are ready to get off they will not simply let you. They block off the door and start getting on...
