Bob your our hero. Bob your the best we salute your bravery skill and professionalism. These kind of outcomes our rare bob was on of the few the guy that pulled this of. We also got the flight with the co piolate and the other guy who was not a captain. Had to land the plane because the l captain got partly sucked out the cockpit window because the wind screen shattered in flight. There was the the guy who was forced that land in the Hudson river in New York. Then one of the most famous the plane that had its number 2 prowler come off paratay cut through the middle part through the plan to the point that the floor partially collapsed. We land the plane the best we could no one died let’s get our coats ties and hats on boys.

They left with half of what they needed in fuel. I’m amazed they still managed to make it down safely.

Have to say what really amuses me is how when they drained the fuel out it was in gallons and when they estimated fuel load it was volume converted in to kilo grams or was it pounds and when they talked about altitude it was in feet or was it meters and when they spoke of how far from the runway they were it was again in kilometers. Look.. having all these different measurements is very confusing and actually the very cause of this "almost catastrophe ". Fact is I have been in aviation for 40 yrs and the only thing that has gone metric is the temperature, now in Celsius. Just a little refresher course; water is 8 lbs. per gallon, oil is 7 and fuel is 6. A statute mile is 5280 feet and a Nautical Mile is 1.15 Statue Miles. All you need to know to fly aircraft. This poor fueler has to convert every other aircraft on the field into pounds but Canada Air is special and has to have metric. Another thing that is not mentioned here cause I worked these birds, if the fuel indication system is not working it takes a licensed mechanic to drip the tanks and confirm how much fuel was in there. This was a comedy of errors. As a former Alaskan I will tell you Canada knows better. Houston Departure, Good Day.
