According to the description of the video, it is a new lineup of band members: After 50 successful years Tangerine Dream seamed to come to an end, when founder and mastermind EDGAR FROESE passed away in early 2015. But even before his death he already had the vision to open a new chapter for the band and he began to work on a new album with a younger line up. THORSTEN QUESCHNING, longterm member of TD is now bandleader and has with PAUL FRICK a well reputated artist next to him. Violinist HOSHIKO YAMANE is completing the line up

Out of curiosity I searched for Tangerine Dream and I kinda figured that it would be all new band members and this new version still sounds good. My introduction to TD was back in ‘79 when I was in the Navy and we were out at sea, we would have movie night once a week and it just so happened that the movie for that night was William Fredkins version of Sorcerer, if you haven’t seen this movie it’s free on KZbin movies and the music played during this movie will blow you away. After that while I was stationed at Pearl I went to see Risky Business and the music for that movie is awesome… These guys are killing it 👍👍

Started listening to Tangs around 1970 and they were the first live gig I ever went to with the release of Stratosphere in ‘76. What blew me away with that gig was Edgar on electric guitar! Saw them again a couple of years later. For me Phaedra and Rubycon are timeless classics and will never be topped but I may have to start listening to this new combo!

I was turned on to TD in '71-'72 when in high school. By '73, I was a full blown TD nut with Edgar being my main influence. By the mid '70s, I was creating my own synth studio. Now in 2024 I still have my original vintage gear, most rare and worth $$$. TD was and is my major influence in electronica. This incarnation is still satisfying because I hear Edgar's soul in many of their pieces. The sequences and arpeggios are still TD. They use a lot more ambient soundscapes but it's really great. For those who say TD is gone, I say this group keeps the original band's spirit alive.

Merci.... Et merci pour ce beau partage...

@francoisbaugey25702 ай бұрын
@SuperSpacedream ... Bien amicalement...
@michelbazin75342 ай бұрын
@francoisbaugey25702 ай бұрын
@michelbazin7534 ... Ceci dit, je me suis bien rattrapé depuis ! Bien amicalement
@michelbazin75342 ай бұрын

What a joke! They fill the stage with keys and racks but just stand there doing next to nothing. Why don't they just bring a record player and 3 comfy chairs, put on the record and sit in the chairs and DO NOTHING! If you really want to watch 3 keyboard players, go with KEITH, RICK & TONY!
