New Zealand’s National Film Unit presents ' A Ship Sails Home' (1962)
The maiden voyage of the HMNZS "OTAGO", the first ship built for the Royal New Zealand Navy. Manned by a New Zealand crew, the "Otago" goes to sea for trials, refuelling exercises and mock battles. On the voyage home to New Zealand, the new frigate calls at Mediterranean ports, at Suez, Colombo and Singapore.
