This was a good example of what you said in beginning about the coach letting the client find ways. This was really good! Please do more videos!

Good clear establishing of client agenda, outcomes wanted, measurable results and asking for where the client is right now before moving into the main coaching and where they want to go.

Very good session and the client's feedback at the end says it all. It's well structured, and flowing. Well done! I personally would have added the following 3 elements: (1) take a bit more time to connect at the start with the client (as human beings), (2) ask about the client's feelings now and if her goals were achieved, as feelings can be a great motivator to act, change and overcome obstacles. (3) I would have taken a few minutes to list with the client and focus on her strengths as I find that being aware of their strengths/skills/abilities has a tendency to empower people to build on them. On that same topic, I think it's great that you ask about available resources (time, techniques, tools) and things that may stand in her way (clients' demands) so her plan makes the most of what is at hand while being obstacle-proof.

Janice, I understand the frustration, but honestly, coaching is about guiding your client through an emotionsl "forest" to find thier own answers. I am new to this, trying to work my way into the business, but see how essential it is in todays society. I also believe that coaching is even more important in this time frame due to the social media craze which has deleted CLOSE friends and face-to-face conversations, which very technically is when we, the older generation, used to solve our problems.

Very good, basically this is relying on the accountability style of coaching.....Some suggestions to coach to a deeper level....(1) What feelings and reactions do you have about getting your admin done? (Talk about these and clear them as much as possible). (2) What physically gets in the way of you doing your admin? What could you do about these things? (3) How does getting your admin done support and promote your goals, purposes and values? (4) You mentioned that you did some visualization exercise about getting your admin done and you felt much more motivated, also you said that pretending to be someone who is good at getting admin done was a big help....Okay let's do some visualization exercises here today to work on that....Visualize the YOU that is great at getting admin done, imagine that version of YOU standing here in the room before you, now stand up and BECOME that ideal admin you, feel what it is like to be that version of you, feel what you are feeling, see what you are seeing, and thinking what you are thinking as that person who is great at doing admin .....(practice this until she can do it with ease) ...now let's visualize all your admin being up to date, see what you can see and feel what you can feel when all of your admin is up to date, see how much better your business is with all of your admin up to date....DO THESE STEPS AND THIS LADY WILL BE JUMPING OUT OF THE SESSION AND HEADING TO THE OFFICE TO SORT OUT HER ADMIN BEFORE TEA TIME

Secondly, the coach would repeat the solution that came from the client herself n then put a schedule to achieve her solution.. and summarise how she will feel having achieved her own solution😃👍

She's responding as if she's a coach herself in his business and they are role playing. It would have been more believable with someone never had coaching. But good clear engagement anyway x

THIS is Life Coaching???? I getting ready to get my Certification for ICF... and I need to spend thousands of $$$ and work countless hours to become a boring coach??? Repeating questions that the client is asking... The Lady did more coaching than the gentleman... !!! if she already knows the questions, why couldn't she answer them herself? I have been a Teacher/Coach for 30 years... I wanted to be Certified as a Life Coach to expand my business... but IF this is all I can do... is just ask questions back to the client... I'm not sure I'm cut out talking money being insignificant... I'm sorry... Come on now... Please tell me a Life Coach has more of a roll than asking boring questions...

You don't need 'certification' - if you have the skills to listen and encourage without judgement. Certification acts as a 'right of passage' so you now believe you are a coach ;) Have a look at kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpLClZqFptxjkJo and kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4qwiGedfqtjjpI and beyond those, there are many great resources out there for free. Importantly, you need to identify the client types you want to work with, and market clearly to them. Marketing is very important.

It’s called reflecting back and is sometimes key to ensure that the coach is clear on what has been said to avoid misunderstanding but also to enable the client to hear back what they’ve said. I’ve had clients once they’ve heard back what they’ve said decide that’s not what they wanted to say at all or what they meant or doesn’t actually feel right to them. Sometimes there is value in a client getting out of their own head and hearing someone else say what they’ve said. It’s actually very powerful for processing and realisation for the client. There is a reason and psychology behind it and as such, is the reason credible coaching bodies will teach this to trainee coaches. This might seem boring but simple questions and reflections are key coaching skills. This style works incredibly well for making client shifts.

Who is the Coach, she is telling him what she as to do. When she is sat there talking to him she could be at work getting on with the task she needs to do. lol
