I have the exact same bike and the same color, a 2003 Yamaha Roadster Midnight Star. I bought it in 2014 with about 37k miles and it currently has about 65,000 miles. It's the first bike I've ever owned and I think it rides very well and I was very surprised at how balanced and easy it was to ride for a big heavy bike. Yes, the foot boards scrape when taking sharp corners.

I had a 99 Roadstar...lowered with heaps of gear. A great bike. Definitely worth collecting. Now have a Roadliner. The Roadstar build quality is exceptional...i missed that bike from the day I sold it. Those apes are not made for cornering are they.

I come from the sport bike world but thinking of moving over in this direction. Are this fast or torquey at all? How do the handle on the highway versus in the twisties? Would this be a fun or laborsome bone to commute on? Just curious and thank you.
@Jeremy_955314 жыл бұрын
Mine's a 1600; very torquey. Smooth and comfortable, can ride for hours but after a while I start missing my windscreen I had on my last bike. Corners are not great, can't go super fast or you drag the foot boards, but these are not meant for hard cornering. Corners are still plenty of fun, especially if you like to just touch the foot boards and drag them a little bit LOL. But you don't want to hit a bump while you are doing that!
@jarhead90354 жыл бұрын
I recently rode my 1600 through the black hills in South Dakota. It doesn’t corner or take the curves as well as my ZR7 but still a fun ride. It’s like riding a lazy boy through the hills.
