lil tip: if u put a bunch of loose shells in your left pouch and need to fill up the loops on the side of the gun, they immediatly refil the loops when you brush the gun against them.

@@mosesstone2221 well to be fair get buckshot then go to an armored mimic in kokhoz, I literally emptied a whole 12 buckshot from a spas into one ran out then shot at it with my last 2 bullets in a glock 18 and it still didn't die. Against unarmored enemies yes buck is good even from range if you got the upgrade to decrease spread, but against armored enemies it's near useless

Buckshot is still valuable at point blank. Especially against multiple enemies. Lining 2 fragments into one shell and stabbing both cores at the same time is one of many satisfying uses for buckshot

I find the 81 to be great because you have a lot of control over the shells. I play very aggressively, so I will load one or two slugs followed by three or four buckshot. I shoot the slugs accurately, then charge in with buckshot to finish off anything left alive. It usually works

I saved up a lot to buy the SPAS12 and once I got it, I never looked back. So much better than any other shotgun it's amazing. Glad they have it in semi-auto mode, pumping was such a chore lol

I mean being In the early game as I am having that Beginning sawed off For what i like to call "Oh fuck you exist moments". Which are moments in which an enemy Sneaks up on you while your main gun is not avalable. Like recently. Me taking out the mag from the pistol to refill it in a quiet moment only for footsteps to intensify and a stalker to walk around a corner. Was glad I had the sawed off then.

What I'd do for fun is bring the double barrel & an ammo box of slugs with me as a side arm. It was a little heavy but the snap open makes reloading from the box really easy. I was running with one of the AKs, so anything that got close (spawns) needed to go quickly & economically. I tried running with setups that required my vest mag pouches to be split between 2 guns & didn't survive as well.

I've been using the Saiga lately but I'm leaving home more often as it's mags are SUPER buggy. Regularly they refuse to store in the mag pouches and just drop to the ground so they have to go in the side pouch or backpack until the next loading screen that sometimes fixes them. I keep falling back on the pump action as it's just way too fun to use once you get the ammo upgrade.

Bro, Buckshot is multiple small projectiles, or bassicaly bbs. A slug is a full projectile which is why buckshot spreads more while a slug shoots straight

Ok the spas is way underrated. Maybe its worse in pcvr but in oculus its by far the best. It only really struggles in the farther reaches of mid range and long range and it can be upgraded to a 9 round tube mag cap + 1 in the chamber

I know this video is almost a year old by now, but the Izh-81 (an M870 in my modded game) is the only shotgun I own, and the only one I need Having come from H3 to ITR I absolutely love manually operated weapons. Pumping that fore after a nice kill will never not be satisfying

Idk why but when I use the two break actions they don’t work properly, like I’ll be running and it’s like my tracking gives up and the shotgun stops moving, but the only two guns that do that are the over under shotguns (the ones you can buy) meanwhile I have to problem with the side by side shotguns (the ones you find)

You use the trigger to remove shells from the loops. I've found that they also always get removed from left to right, so you don't have to reach fro the exact one every time

@@notbsp Kinda bummed, tried out the IZ-8 and I couldn't get comfortable with it. Every other or once every 3 shots, if I tried to rack it would just load the expended shell back into the barrel instead of ejecting it. Became very fustrating to use when I was engaging mimics. Think I'll stick with the Over-Under for now, save for a Spas.

SPAS has a bigger magazine tube than IZh-81 and allows to get in or out of difficult close quarters situation alive much-much easier. Why would you use IZh-81 as a sniper rifle when there are actual sniper rifles? IZh-81 belongs to the B-tier imho, it's a good gun and I also had a lot of fun with it, but it is rather restricting. did they nerf it recently? It seems to take alot of shots with slugs to get kills on armor targets and also sometimes it takes 2 shots on unarmored seekers or mimics unless point blank.

@@shinobusensui9395 I also felt it. SPAS has let me down once in each of the two latest hunts with it. I have decreased spread but a SWAT in like 10-15m just wouldn't die and I ended up with an empty tube while being silently surrounded by other enemies. Then I was using 100% slugs and took down a soldier in 20ish meters with 3 hits. I must mention tho, that I belive I hit his limbs all 3 times

You shouldn't treat buckshot as a long-range option. It preforms best at (obviously) close to medium range. If you buy the reduced spread mod, it can be used quite reliably in those medium-range encounters (but still wouldn't recommend long-range engagements). Buckshot-loaded shotguns in real life can shoot from a fair distance away, but they're still ideally used in closer ranges, just like this game. Shotguns are no replacement for sniper rifles. *TL/DR: be close to enemy to make buckshot good, who would've guessed* Also, never buy the increased spread mod. Literally just makes your gun more inaccurate with no upside. You would only buy it if you're terrible at aiming so you have more room for error in cqc, in which case you're probably dead anyway
