Brilliant born and bred in Medway Towns 1963, apart from a couple of pub crawls back in the 80s never thought much about Faversham . Now in my 60s I get down there as often as I can , its lost in time a wonderful place to wander around. This is a fantastic piece social history that needs archiving for posterity. ThanX

Wonderful. Pity there are no personalities like this any more. Great photos, commentaries, and structure. Many thanks. Rmb5*

Sitting here in Munich not far from the Isar river I was over there at the shipyard the whole film. Great. Thankyou. ❤

My classmate Clifford Boakes, I think his name was, at the main Grammar School 1961-66 always seemed to know when a launch was due, and I'm not sure that we ever missed one! Roger Blake (my dad Norman was deputy headmaster and head of maths there).

reminds ne of the Robert Wyatt song, Shipbuilding. A classic and fitting.

About sums up the story of British industry: little investment in modern machinery and techniques 34.00 four men operating a manual crane to lower an engine into a ship, no wonder the Japanese took over.
