A Silent Journey to Jeju Island | Hallasan, Udo Island, Seongsan ilchulbong | Korea Vlog

We visited Jeju Island last summer. This scenic journey included Oedolgae, Hallasan National Park, Yeongsil Trail, Jeongbang Waterfall, Udo Island, Seongsan Ilchulbong, and Jeolmul Natural Forest.
Jeju Island: Jeju Island, the largest island in South Korea, is renowned for its stunning natural scenery and unique culture. Located at the southernmost tip of the country, it was formed through volcanic activity and offers a variety of natural landmarks and historical sites. Jeju is home to Hallasan National Park, which was designated a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in 2007, reflecting the island's commitment to preserving its pristine environment.
Oedolgae: Oedolgae is one of Jeju Island's iconic natural landmarks, located in Seogwipo, on the southern coast. This striking rock formation stands about 20 meters tall and appears to rise alone from the sea, which is why it's called "Oedolgae," meaning "solitary rock" in Korean. Oedolgae is steeped in local legend. One popular story is that the rock resembles a giant old woman who was turned to stone while waiting for her husband to return from fishing.
Hallasan National Park: Hallasan National Park, located on Jeju Island, is centered around Hallasan Mountain, the highest peak in South Korea at 1,947 meters (6,388 feet). The park is renowned for its unique volcanic landscapes, rich biodiversity, and cultural significance. The park is home to a variety of landscapes, including lush forests, crater lakes, volcanic cones, and rugged rock formations. At the heart of the park is Hallasan, a shield volcano that dominates the island's landscape. The mountain's summit features a crater lake called Baengnokdam, or "White Deer Lake," which is a must-see for those reaching the top. It’s home to over 1,800 species of plants and 4,000 species of animals, including several rare and endangered species.
Jeongbang Waterfall: Jeongbang Waterfall is one of the most famous waterfalls in Jeju Island, located near Seogwipo City. It is unique because it is the only waterfall in Asia that falls directly into the ocean.
Udo Island: Udo Island, located off the eastern coast of Jeju Island, is a small but stunningly beautiful island known for its tranquil atmosphere and unique natural landscapes. Named after its shape, which resembles a lying cow ("Udo" means cow in Korean), the island is famous for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and basalt cliffs. Udo offers a variety of activities, including biking, hiking, and snorkeling, allowing visitors to explore its scenic coastal roads and lush countryside.
Seongsan Ilchulbong: Seongsan Ilchulbong, also known as Sunrise Peak, is a striking volcanic tuff cone on the eastern coast of Jeju Island. Formed by a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago, it rises 182 meters above sea level. The peak is surrounded by steep cliffs on three sides and a lush grassy crater at the summit. Seongsan Ilchulbong's unique shape, resembling a giant crown, makes it a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-visit for nature lovers and adventurers.
Jeolmul Natural Forest is a serene retreat located in the northern part of Jeju Island, known for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful, dense forests. The forest is particularly famous for its towering Japanese cedar trees.
