A SIMPLE business plan to grow a $100k online course

Need a business plan? In my early days as an entrepreneur, I thought a successful business looked like a life of luxury: private jets, fancy cars, millions of views and subscribers. Man, oh man… was I wrong!
Reality check - the truth behind a very successful online course business is that it’s actually very - dare I say it - SIMPLE. sigh of relief For so much of my earlier years, I got caught up worrying about so many things that didn’t actually move the needle which is unfortunately the #1 reason why people tend to gravitate towards shiny objects. It took me years as an entrepreneur to really ground myself in keeping my business data driven, super boring, wildly predictable. However, simplifying has allowed both myself and several of my clients to hit well over 6-figures per month on a consistent basis with our online course businesses. That’s why I created today’s video just for you.

The one part I highly recommend over any other part is to really listen to Sunny when she says to document every part of your business. I’ve heard it said so many times before but the way you put the power of one was a lightbulb moment for me…I even say it to my coachees too. When I focus on that one area of transformation it does make it so much easier! I think I had been making my courses so in depth and detailed and “complete” because my personality is so process-start to finish oriented. But not all transformations need a long roadmap…with 20 steps…some only need 5…and when you said that it clicked. There are several areas of transformation in what I teach. And each does have its own ICA… Thank you! So much clarity here! So much! ❤️

So, shortly speaking, I just wanted to suggest that you use some sort of limiter or a compressor (those are both audio effects) on your voice. This way it would sound way better. I love your content Sunny!!! But I really think 20% (on the lower end) is a huge overestimate, 1-2% conversion from the email list with very target subscribers would be real I believe. Sunny, at 24:30 on this video, you say, “The client who is helping married couples - this person is probably going to start at around $5K, but the thing is…” Probably? Uh, hasn’t started yet? Eh? Will she be able to sell that package for $5K? Will the couple continue to pay her another $5K each month, for a year, two years, or three? Hmmmm. I can see your client, a business owner for example, be willing to spend $ 5K each month, when you are teaching that client how increase monthly sales by some healthy multiple of the $5K each month - increased sales of $30K, $40K, $50K, or more. But after several months, once the client’s business is bringing in multiples of what it had been doing, I see no reason for the client to continue to pay $5K each month. The client has achieved the goal, and now knows how to continue to grow. I remember sitting in a room listening Jay Abraham talk about how client would want to drop out of the monthly payments after a time, even when the monthly payments would be less than $5K. Just like the couple trying to have a better time in bed not wanting to pay $5K month after month What am I missing here? :-D on

Thirty years ago I attended a Jay Abraham boot camp, at which he talks about gaining clients who would pay $1,800 per month over and over. It was not sustainable for much more than a year, because, once clients knew how to implement the strategies, they would want to stop being charged. I used a group of his strategies and doubled sales virtually over night in a brick-and-mortar, service business I owned at the time. Continued use of his techniques eventually increased that business' revenue by a factor of more than five times.
