I always thought the red bit on the hook was for when fishing it down a lenth of ducting. I also use the mark the floor for my lights but after having a overzealous contractor clean the marks off before i came back to second fix, i also take pictures and draw diagrams as well. Another great video bud.

Lovely video thanks. Clearly much work done in editing, so appreciate the effort. Great to see the way the work was done, loved that aspect. At 19:35 you comment on a lamp not on, then on. I giggled as it was seen on and off for the last bit of the video, clearly something amiss that you would obviously have noticed after filming. Keep it up! I hope we get to see the final product of your 'Blackpool Illuminations'.

That hook is for sliding it over suspended ceilings and the plastic edges are so you can roll it to the side if you have any obstructions. Really enjoying all ur videos mate, keep up the good work ❤

We have just had a loft conversion, and the guys boarding the space used a laser level that 'looped' around the room. As they figured out where the cables for the downlight were going they added tape and marker crosses on the floor, directly beneath the downlight position and the cables. All the sparky has to do (before the flooring goes down) is line up his laser level to the marks on the floor and transfer the crosses back onto the plastered ceiling. Said it made his job a breeze and was going to do the same going forward.

Just playing catch up on your videos Adam. Love this one. I reckon I've lost a few bits in ceiling joists. Arggh! The angled chuck is a great idea. I looked at a few yesterday. I do need to get one, as I'm fed up of cutting more holes. Great video

In oz..,We use locators ( bosch to find cable … or a mastec toner ( a bit quicker and it doesn’t mind live cables) .. the ferret is handy ( just a bit large and easy to lose..

Something similar happened on a site I was working on I had 6 houses boarded and plastered and painted with all the downlight cables completely hidden. No problem though I just told the site manager that we could destroy the ceiling or he could get the plasterers back. He came up with plan B he had the joiners RIP up the bedroom chipboard floors in the 6 houses that way I could find the cables and complete my work and the joiners refitted new floors in the bedrooms. I asked him why he didn't get the plasterers back his answered he had told them to return to site but they wouldn't return unfortunately for their boss he hadn't been paid for the plasterers work so the manager just counter charged them 2k per house and I counter charged them £500.00 per house. If the boarders cover your cable just inform the customer and let them sort it out or just but big holes in the ceiling near to your light position find your cable fit your light and let the customer get the plasterers back to sort the damage.

Think the switching arrangement could have been better. Try separating ambient, task and functional lighting rather than a switch for every individual thing. Like all the leds could have been linked on one switch 8 switches will become a nuisance for the client quickly
@sotaelectrical
@sotaelectrical Жыл бұрын
So the client specified that they wanted the LED’s switched separately and that is why they are on two switches rather than one. Where have you got 8 switches from??
