This ground beef pasta recipe tastes delicious, but it's ready in about 30 minutes! Perfect for busy weeknights. Easy creamy ground beef pasta, will please the whole family!
This recipe will work with whatever your favorite pasta shape is / what you've got on hand. It's the perfect quick family meal! This recipe is very easy! Ingredients:
220 g (8 ounces) conchiglie, or any other shell-shaped pasta
2 tbsp olive oil
pinch of salt
1/2 medium onion
450 g (1 pound) extra lean ground beef
2 cloves garlic
450 g (2 cups) tomato sauce
1 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
120 ml (1/2 cup) heavy / whipping cream
Basil (optional)
Salt & pepper to taste
Parmigiano-Reggiano (optional)
Dijon mustard (optional but recommended for building layers of flavor)

Never ever put oil in the water when boiling pasta! It's a classic mistake! It makes difficult for the pasta to absorb the sauce! Also, if you want the sauce to be creamy, instead of cream add a half glass of the water used to boil the pasta. This will thicken and make your sauce more creamy without adding cream to it.

Thanks for the tips. I also never rinse my pasta, just drain. rinsing removes the coating (glutin ?) that helps sauces cling to the pasta.

Thank you guys. I thought it was weird her adding oil to the boiling water. Even when I'm just frying food in the frying pan I make sure theres no water in the pan (from being washed) before adding some oil. But if I didn't read these advices from yall, I'd have followed her exact steps.

Never ever! Oil in the water: NEVER EVER! The surface of pasta is made to suck the sauce. Oil make surface slippery and sauce cannot stick!

I make something very similar - except I leave out the Italian seasoning and mustard, and add soy sauce and paprika. I've never tried finishing the sauce with cream, that might not work with my soy sauce version.

My family makes something similar that is often made for the children when they are young but the adults enjoy it as well. It's quick n easy and inexpensive. Made with or without meat. We add tomato sauce to the water of the pasta. I don't measure but I think it's a 1-1 1/2 cups pasta, 1 chicken bouillon OR onion and garlic or seasonings you prefer, black pepper, one can tomato sauce,?2-3 cans water. Enough to cover pasta well but not so much that you'll need to drain it when done. You'll want the pasta to absorb the liquid as it cooks. As the macaroni cooks they absorb the flavors and come out very flavorful with a nice sauce and coated very well.

Aber es stimmt, man gibt kein Öl in Nudelwasser, weil danach die Soße an die Nudel haftet nicht. Und ich lerne Deutsch seit 40 J und beharsche die Sprache nicht.

@@juliagessler8793 Von "nicht beherrschen" kann man aber wirklich nicht sprechen. Das liest sich sehr gut. 1-2 kleinere Fehler, aber das ist schon recht flüssig und gut. Und an alle die denken Deutsch ist schwer, versucht euch mal an Polnisch. 😂🤣🤦‍♂️

Danke für das tolle Rezept. Ich habe es heute gekocht und es war soooo lecker. Für die Soße habe ich passierte Tomaten mit Kräutern verwendet und dafür das italienische Gewürz weg gelassen. Das werde ich auf jeden Fall wieder kochen.

I made this and also used shells, they were perfect for capturing the sauce. Delicious!!! Very easy and quick to make. Add a salad, garlic toast/bread and you have a wonderful meal. Love your channel.

Just cooked up this dish. I choose to use medium shells as my pasta of choice. The shells were a perfect vessel to harbor the sauce as a landing space. I added some Baby Bella Mushrooms to the dish to bring a little earthiness to the dish. It is so delicious! The heavy cream along with the Dijon Mustard gives the sauce an explosion of flavor levels! The creaminess of the cream and the bite of the mustard go very well together. You gotta try this, Folks.

Just don't do it in cast iron. The acid in the tomatoes ruins the seasoning on the frying pan.

This is very similar to my recipe only I use Italian sausage and minus the mustard and cream. Only Parmesano Reggiano on top.

Thanks for this amazing, easy recipe!! If I were to add ground chicken to this, how long should I cook that since chicken takes longer to cook than beef? Thank you!

So, if use ground chicken, you'll want to cook it till it is no longer pink. When it looks white, it is done so you can cook it in a 2nd dish the first time you make it so you know it is done and you don't get food poisoning.

hehe Actually you should add to your authentic "salsa bolognese" a little cream (or more frequently some milk) as the last ingredient. So says the official recipe coded at Chamber of Commerce in Bologna. Other liquids permitted in the sauce are: red wine (when roasting the meats) and beef stock, which makes the final taste richer. What I do not like in this recipe is garlic, which is really too strong and doesn't mix well with gentle caramelization of the onion (if you really like garlic, use garlic just in place of the onion) and, my main point, the fact that tomatoes are cooked just for few minutes. Tomatoes really need a long cooking time in order to lower their acidity and develop the subtle deep flavors which will make you fall in love with the dish, as opposed to just consuming a meal.

I think I’d prefer to leave the fresh basil in a chiffonade, rather than milling it with the knife. Great dish. The whipping cream is a great addition.

Da italiana vi prego NO panna, troppo aglio, no l olio nell'acqua della pasta, la carne deve essere un macinato misto lasciate il grasso che è ciò che la rende buona, togliete quelle spezie una foglia di basilico sale pepe, e quel sugo deve cuocere almeno almeno 3 ore. Se volete fare il nostro ragù, Carote cipolla sedano Trita Olio Vino rosso Sale Passata di pomodoro Fuoco basso E dimenticatevi di lui.

I am intolerant, don't have an anaphylactic response, to tomatoes, but find if I add some brown sugar it helps the acid issue and seems ok to eat here and there. I also have to be careful with garlic, so leave out. Not sure if this might help you.

Can I suggest that you forget the tomatoes and use what we call in France Creme Fraiche...I think it is double cream in English. Plus a squeeze of lemon and a bit of the pasta water. No need to put any oil in your pasta water (a common myth) providing your water is on a rolling boil (bubbling strongly). Bon appétit from Paris👨🏻‍🍳👍
