Incredible to realize that things are not things that are seen, it's all just seeing. And that even seeing is all just awareness.

If I live in Miami then I live south of New York, but the converse of this statement is false because if I live south of New York I don’t necessarily have to live in Miami. Similarly we can say by sure that without consciousness there is not world, however without world there is still consciousness. Consciousness is the ever present reality of all existence even prior the appearance of time and space. Thank you Alan for sharing your compilations of Rupert’s teachings, because “living in Miami” many time your videos is the first thing I watch when I wake up in the morning.

I love non-duality. I feel like my life has become possible. But...if time is non-existent how can “prior to” be real?
@alanneachell90924 жыл бұрын
Time is a thought construct. Time doesn't exist now! So you're right, we can't really say prior to thought.

"Spirit, mind, soul, and thr powers of sight and hearing are but one single reality which hath mainfold expressions owing to the diversity of its instruments. As thous dost observe, man's power to comprehend, move, speak, hear, and see all derive from this sign of his Lord within him. It is a single essence, yet mainfold through the diversity of its instruments. For example, if it directeth its attention to the means of hearing, then hearing and it's attributes become manifest. Likewise if it directeth itself to the means of vision, a different effect and attribute appear. Reflect upon this subject that thou mayest comprehend the true meaning of what hath been intended.. If there is no entity that's a separate self ( I've been looking & haven't found one) how can there be finite minds?
@alanneachell90923 жыл бұрын
There is no seperate entity in direct experience. We could call the non seperate reality, knowing. When Rupert uses the term "finite minds" he is speaking of activities "within" the one knowing, made of the same knowing. He admits that multiple activities can't be proved or experienced directly but that it's an acceptable assumption as we do experience "our" single activity. So he is not imagining a completely unknown catagory.
@alanneachell90923 жыл бұрын
It's also important to remember in timeless, spaceless knowing, all possible activities appear here and now as if stacked on top of each other.
@alanneachell90923 жыл бұрын
Every explanation is only a model of the mystery.
@yogalisa13 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Activity not entity. That makes more sense to me. That the apparently separate self/finite mind is an activity not an entity. In this context does separate self and finite mind refer to the same activity. No difference between "finite mind", which is activity, and "separate self", which is activity?

Does words and languages becomes unreliable at one stage ?
@alanneachell90926 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely! We should come to the point where we are our own authority. The only way to do this is to become more and more acquainted with ourselves as awareness. 🙏
