A Ski Descent of the North Face of Pikes Peak in Colorado
Watch, from the telemark skier's point of view, a ski descent of the Y Couloir on the rugged North Face of Pikes Peak in Colorado, USA. With no wind and plenty of sunshine, the day was set for this epic descent. Snow had been drifting into the couloir all Winter and conditions were hard-packed and somewhat icy. One mistake and I could have slid thousands of feet to my death.
Note: I posted the first version of this video over 8 years ago….wow, that’s hard to believe! KZbin wasn’t known to the masses then and wasn’t half of what it is now. It didn’t matter then that I used copyrighted music on the original version of this video. That is the reason for the revisions. I changed out the music and sound effects for royalty-free options mainly from KZbin’s Creator’s Audio Library…Thank you KZbin for that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this re-cut.

+Trevor Wire No, too expensive and time consuming. Paid the fee and drove up the toll road to the summit. After skiing the Y, I climbed back up the Y, and drove home. You can also climb back out via Rumdoodle Ridge, but it doesn't take you directly to the summit, so you have to walk through a boulder field to get back to the summit, or hitch a ride from a tourist.
