A Soldier and a Son by Rich Penkert

This song was written, composed, preformed and recorded by Rich Penkert, formerly of Hector, now living in Bird Island. The slideshow was created by Steve Nelson of Hector. Rich & Steve are brothers-in law.
It's called "A Soldier and a Son". Rich wrote it as a tribute to SPC James David Wertish, K.I.A. July 16th, 2009 in Basra Iraq. James was the son of Kim and Dave Wertish, of Olivia, as well as Rich & Steve’s cousin.
This is a very powerful song and a great performance by Rich Penkert, The slideshow contains actual photos of James, his funeral & procession through Hector
