Ultimately, I feel bad for the devs more than anyone else. They're stuck in the middle and are getting shit on by both sides (the higher ups making bad business decisions, and us, the players/community.) They did a lot of hard work this year. Character update, big story update (Devil's gap? Awesome), Hollow Woods, Western camp... Honestly, this was the most enjoyable year I've spent on SSO. I know this doesn't really have anything to do with A/B testing (and how messed up it was at worst, questionable at best,) I just feel bad for all the people stuck in the middle who just want to make players happy. They are always who I have in mind when I see all the uproar in the community and it makes me sad.

I agree with you as well! I was just thinking about this the other day. A lot of players complain about this game but completely forget how much hard work is put into it. Don’t get me wrong, I see the flaws the company has but the game itself isn’t horrible. I personally love the new look of the game, the graphics go well with theme and are overall beautiful. The only thing I personally had an issue with is the lore of the updated characters. I was a little disappointed with the updated dark riders. But it’s something I can get around, I mean people do change.

20:00 - 21:03 I’m still watching the video as of writing this but this part right here is so true. I live in an area where I can’t afford a horse (and knowing me I’d want two so they wouldn’t get lonely). I haven’t ridden horses since around 2013. SSO is the only way I can do that with how my life currently is. I do get upset when something like this whole thing happens because it makes me worry about my pixel horses. I’m attached to them. I love them. They’re the only way I get to experience the horse riding lessons of my youth again.

It would be cool if that's how the starter horses worked. Like you picked a breed and color and thats your starter. Maybe from select breeds so people still had to spend money on special horses.

Okay, so now having finished the video, I just want to say this was extremely well put together (and I do like how it was dramatized, I found it really kept my attention on every word that was said). I will admire that I’m not the most informed person in the SSO community and this completely filled me in on everything on both sides (whereas before I just had a big chunk of info from the boycotting side and a little bitty crumb of info from the defending side). I think I could’ve worded my statement in the server a little bit better but hindsight is 20/20 and overall I still agree with the uproar while thinking the yeti is a unique pet. If you had told me this was NOT your first deep dive video, I would’ve believed you because this was so well put together and informative 👏

Heres another example that I would like to compare what's going down in sso to. Wizard101, a game that has been around for just as long as sso. A childhood game that i grew up with and still to this day play. Kingsisle ran the game for almost 16 years. They were also a little greedy, often taking away crown codes and coming out with more bundles rather then content. The game went stale until it was bought by another company that had game development experience. After that, the games story got updated, as well as the prices being very reasonable. People who had membership were now getting benefits and more recognition for supporting the game. That's what i feel like sso needs. It needs to be in the hands of people who know how go run a game, who know how to connect with their audiences and how recognize its supporters.

Love your drama editing. Very nice! But on the sc issue: they deff gave them as damage control as when they responded to the first inquiry about getting them, they could have said we will be getting them just not in the usual way. Instead they made it sound like we weren't getting them at all. After several years of the same, of course players will expect the same. That's like if they suddenly stopped giving themed outfits for birthdays. Its expected and if they know they are making a major change, they need to be straight up with it and broadcast it. I love all your points you covered and stand on your opinion side as an og player myself. SSO is trying but i feel like they've been in business too long to still be making such ridiculous mistakes/decisions.

I feel like the expectatitons are also coming from getting older and feeling we need to grab onto something. I'll explain. We got SC for over 10 years. When the players were around 8-12 years. But those players including me grew up and it was/is a HUGE part of our lives. And it's really hard to let the game go, because it's changing so much from what we lived loved and it's not there anythere. I feel like this SC was the one and only thing the older players including me grabbed onto, as a way of still searching for the game we started to play, the game we missed. About he a/b testing. Kind of around 10 years ago they already had this option, where the cheaper didn't get an allowance. Did people really forgot about it? But it was definietly wrong of SSO for promising they both get SC while the other actually doesn't. That picture was wrong

I don't really understand their way of a/b testing... what are they actually testing? To see if more people buy SR if the only option in front of them is cheaper? Wouldn't it have been a better test if they showed both offers to everyone? To see if people decide to buy the cheaper one even tho they don't get weekly SC or if they still would buy the more expensive one so that they get the weekly SC. I just don't understand their thinking.

It is STILL a fact that sso made some downright stupid decisions, but the playerbase shouldn't be so, how to put it, expectant i guess. This video is so good omg 🥰 I’m an older player, I have a full time job and maybe 2 hours of free time in the evening, I logged in to the winter village maybe ten times this year, the grinding for a temporary event was too much and all that for them to go against the community is just sad to see ☹️ I used to want to defend sso so bad but I don’t think I can anymore, the horses being made at the moment are gorgeous and the quests this year were good, but the higher ups at sso are really ruining this game for us 💔

Wow you went in such dept of this matter. I'm a new player. Started at the end of the Halloween this year. I had no idea about the star coin code till i saw a few videos. First i have to say is the update was not what i was expecting. I had watch so many videos of Sso on KZbin because i couldn't play. It wasn't till mobile for Ios came out. All of the years i watch people play was awesome. So my chance came and i played for a week and was hooked Couldn't leave the starter area due to no star rider. And i severely loved the events i got to be in. As soon as i heard about the code i was hopeful to buy a winter horse as i had saved up from a 99 cent thing they had going. My dear mother heard how excited i was for this. As i enjoy horse game to death and was going to be able to get another one. Then christmas morning i get up and do stuff then in down time i log on. The drop on my face when i saw no star coin code. I was a bit sad. I know and understand how these games work and that its not promised to us but was really hoping for it. I didn't cry or anything as it doesn't help stuff. But im really bad with things so when someone i looked up to was one sided i went with it. Betty the yeti is okay in all defense. I don't hate her nor love her. Befor this my mother bought a discounted star rider for a late birthday present so i had sr and some sc. But still my budget was tight as i spent the sr thing on some horses. So i was then hoping for sc so i could save for the Ardennes. (November was when i became a star rider, and sometime in the first week of playing i found info for sc's on yt for Christmas so if that makes sense) so i was indeed still sad because of the sc issue. But that doesn't stop me from playing what did for a few days was!!! NOT being able to do anything as anytime in the village i would get super hurt and sent back to stables for just walking. Or falling through the map! Tapping on the quests, or racing as it would say i was hurt when i wasn't. All the glitches hurt the game to play plus the headache inducing purple tint. I spent the whole first week grinding due to head splitting migranes. (Not my best moment) I hit 18k after (what my game play was for that week) 50 or so hours. As i can't see specificly for that week. I was putting in the blood, sweat, and tears into collecting that stuff. The boycott seems to of been long coming and the A/B testing is illegal as I have an alt that i went to the store on and found the sc allowance on there and in the description. I don't have socal media so i had no idea about this. I was just confused as to why it was that price as my main had discounted and this one was to but with no deal. (Didn't buy it btw have no money and its an alt) I'm in the in-between as of now as the boycott was called for with all the issues but it was confusing. As you said the hay that broke the cammels back. Or in this cases the carrot that chocked a horses. I will say for some White Knights they gotta chill i had one yell and curse me because i said i would like more quest and less horses. As you can only get to like 24 and have nothing to do. If you made it this far. Don't yell at me.

To those complaining about getting a free yeti instead of a cute pet, just do the "Chilling at Winter Village quest. You get a Fearless Fox Kit and it's adorable. (If you don't have it, do the yeti quests. Why a fox after the yeti quests? Because foxes are involved in the quests.) Thank you so much for making this. I continue to love watching your channel because of my similar views on the game. I have a huge sweet spot for the game due to it being my childhood and actually the big reason I began riding horses. I'm not extremely active on the game anymore but from the times I have log on I have a hard time seeing the social "climate" change. I agree full-heartedly this games NEEDS change. I love seeing the new areas and actually find it really frustrating people constantly ridicule them. But socially this game seems so different-- maybe I just need a fill in-- there isn't much of a sense of community anymore? It may be because I'm no longer on the social side of the game (except for these videos) but even when I was still an avid player about a year and a half ago I watched as the big clubs everyone looked up to disbanned and never truly got replaced. While I found this whole controversy understandable and actually agreed with it, I have watched SSO take this route time and time again. When people complain enough they comply. I truly think the real change is in the future with the other built up frustrations-- some even going back to when I first started playing in 2016.

Thank you for all the time you took to make this, there was a lot of food for thought. Just one question though, if SSO is taking away weekly allowance options, are they going to be reducing their prices of their items in game? The only way I could have survived in the beginning of the game ( I have been playing since 2018) ,was through the weekly allowance, even then it took a long time to save up and get what was needed. Now to buy tack or clothes is just too expensive, how are those who cannot afford a more pricier subscription and therefore a weekly allowance, going to afford to buy star coins to get what is needed. Yes there is the in game currency of Jorvic shillings, but you have to graft REALLY hard and long to get 10k and then its poof , gone on 1 item!. The consumer is being used as Guinea pigs and should be made aware of what is happening. No hate, I enjoy this game but prefer to know what I am getting into in order to make an informed decision. Keep up the good work, you have a new subscriber.

I mean that’s a great point to bring up, but boycotts are usually a mutual decision from a majority of a community at one point in time. Take Starbucks for example (totally different I know, and far more serious) but people all at once decided to boycott them and they’ve lost a lot of profit in a short amount of time. It’s normal for a company to lose clientele, as in you not buying in years, but someone will fill your place eventually & make up for your “lost “ profit. I understand the confusion on that though, boycotts are a difficult thing & take a lot of commitment from a large amount of people as a whole. As for people not playing at ALL, that’s a far harder boycott to organize, people usually target sales for boycotts more anyway. Thank you for the perspective though, that was genuinely something I didn’t even think of!!

So I don't usually comment on the drama of sso but in my opinion some of the drama is going too far. I can see the frustration of some of the players (being a sso player for 12 years myself) when it comes to the drama from bad updates to prices being raised. I just wish that sso would tell players more about what they are doing. Like with the a/b testing for an example, the team behind that could have told us players about before doing it and saying that they misprinted the cheaper option. If players knew what was going on with sso then I think the community would be a little bit less harsh to each other (game blogs).

One thing about the star rider offers I would like to add is, back in 2017 (when I bought my star rider) Both the weekly allowance and the no weekly allowance was an available option. Years later I was wondering where it went (I made an alt account and only the weekly allowance was an option)

I'm going to share my opinion as somebody who hasn't played star stable properly since around 2019. I am level 19 on star stable - started playing around 2017 and only go on to take photos or open the presents under the tree...and I can safely say that sso has gone downhill (which we all already knew) and what they are doing now is wrong for not just the community but for themselves and I think they should have been more open about a lot of things especially the A/B testing, I get why they didn't to get the most reliable results but it still makes no sense how they missed that it says +100sc on the 50 dollar option. Surely, they would have checked through the site before releasing it and if they didn't it shows how much this company doesn't care enough. As for the boycott i don't think they are going about it in the right way as at the end of the day it will only make prices more expensive but sso has had it coming for years now. The game has changed a lot and I see why with a whole new generation of kids playing and honestly, I'm proud of how far they have come with the horses as the Lipizzaner's and Dutch warmbloods are impeccable compared to older horse models sso released in prior years such as the Haflinger but throughout all this change sso has lost a lot of its old self in a way. They have always called us ''starfam'' but even that has lost its meaning over time as how can this community feel like a family when it seems star stable is moving away from the community and its communication is the worst it's possibly ever been. I wouldn't be as mad if they communicated with the community they built. Personally, I believe that the some in the community will be mad at anything SSO does, but I agree with the anger this time and while we have the 300sc should that really excuse what else they have done? Being completely honest I bet they only gave the 300sc to 'cover up' all of the backlash they have gotten. I don't have any expectations for star stable anymore, yet you can see why people expected star coins after having them every year for 10 YEARS and having 0 communication. As previously stated, I don't keep up with the community or the news, but I opened the 25th present and expected star coins but I wasn't mad about it, I just said to myself 'oh? bit weird but alright...?' and didn't think about it much after. Again, I see why people were angry although I guess we have gotten a lot this year that the community didn't seem the most grateful for. The celebration items are on the same level as the magical horses are for me, just retextured and being sold so ppl buy more sc to get them which is more profit for sso and I don't care much to even get online for the special events to get items that are retextured and if they aren't we will get the same retextured items (sometimes nicer) I can just buy so either way I don't have the motivation to complete a special event for a retextured item. I bet it takes effort to create the tack but for them to say it takes them a lot of 'effort' to retexture them is like a massive middle finger in a way, I am not a developer or coder, but it can't take that long especially if they already have the models for the tack such as the saddle pads. Star Stable has more players now which is probably why they don't give out free star coin codes more often as it wouldn't be worth it for them to do but at the same time yes sc prices are really stupid at the moment but again as I've said the prices will go up more with people boycotting as star stable needs the money to keep running which leads me on to say that this business just brought a whole new office and moved into it and has expensive things in the office like the models which they moved so there's no way this company is doing badly if they can afford to do that so I guess it just shows how sso is starting to not care anymore about the wider community which I guess is fair if you think about it because the sso community can be incredibly hateful.. if we are actually communicating without all the threats which is messed up how that even happens because the people replying the comments are paid to say those copy and pasted things but anyways if we as the community stopped being so hateful towards starstable - I'm not talking about when sso actually does something wrong but when they just release something then star stable might want to communicate better with the community because they can respond to this situation about the star coins (not the A/B Testing) and still be hated on no matter what they say. Of course, star stable needs to make an effort as well and it seems they don't and even when they used to give out the star coin codes, they never really had a connection with their own community. In this situation both sides are bad, people against star stable (not all of them) will be against star stable whatever they do, people for sso will defend them if it's the last thing they will do, star stable doesn't really care and there's the small majority that is in the middle. I really liked this video, and it really caught me up with everything going on, after I watched it, I went and did my own searching and wrote this comment mainly to show the opinion as somebody no longer really involved in the star stable community anymore but used to during the era of dressage clubs and gen 2 Friesians that every club and their mothers used. I love this so much 🤩 I think its super important to show both sides of the argument, I was super annoyed when we got the yeti rather than star coins as I didn't think I'd need To buy star coins over xmas because we get codes but I also get cloud's point on the team not promising codes for the next 20+ years. I'm quite in the middle, I think that star riders get spoiled a lot by the team and with getting stuff in the bonus shop etc whereas non star riders don't really get much but then the way sso didn't tell us when they did the non star coin star rider isn't right and is more likely to annoy people than get them to buy it- thats definitely not going to boost sales or players I think sso need to listen more to the feedback they get on social media and bring back the things that made old sso such an appealing game. sso WAS the only game that was very generous to all players and that was their USP. Now they're much more like other horse games (or most games tbh)where youre either a beginner and you get next to nothing or you pay x amount and get everything.I think star stable need to do a massive deep dive into comments on social media to really look at what WE want and what will in turn up their money, player count etc. I totally get that the world is more expensive but sso will get more sales if stuff is cheaper so everyone can actually afford this, once I make a new insta (mine got hacked😜) would I be ok to do a similar thing? 🩵

Since once when I started playing sso (in 2020)again my friends started telling me that usually on children’s day sso would give a code, which they responded to as “not every country celebrates children’s day (that’s okay), but then next couple of years we got a code from them (on the exact day)? Couldn’t they just say “Sorry due to the covid we won’t be giving a code on this day?” Tbh it would make much more sense rather than being like “sorry we’re trying (not) to be inclusive”, secondly as I do agree sometimes they have to raise the prices, they kinda have been like ea games with these, they raise prices over 3 times in span of 2 years! Also the giftcard store was kinda a scam to the players who weren’t from us or euro user either, the prices were overly overpriced for users who used a currency which wasn’t those who I mentioned before. Although the prices now kinda look better it’s still pain in the ass for people who would rather want to give their friends starcoins this way rather than logging on their account. To the a/b testing, I think it’s a bit scummy for new players, since well… how would they know if the only option doesn’t even see to have “weekly allowance” (and when u click on the FAQ page it would say yes u get w weekly allowance with star rider), but to the person on Reddit who kinda made it popular they’re at fault since well, since they said they’ve been playing for over a month they did know that all the other offers said “weekly allowance on it”, although moving away from that fact it doesn’t make any sense for me why someone would buy it, except if someone would didn’t have just the money to buy the normal life time subscription (ALTHOUGH from what I hear u still kinda got some profit out of it? Thank you for sharing this with us. I had heard about this issue, and knew about alot of this, but it was nice getting a more "sum up, both sides" in one video kinda view of the whole thing. I know that alot of the older players are "pissed" at sso, and I am not here to debate if they should be or not, as I have not been around in the community for years. Im just gonna write this from someone who has played other MMO's and payed their subcriptions and special currency fees. Star Stable, is so cheap in comparision, LIfetime subcriptions, pay once never pay again does not exist in others. We get weekly money, other MMO's give you 1 time a month and basically are, here you go now f*** off. Even the monthly and 3 month subcriptions are much cheaper. 13,99$ for 3 months? I payed that in 1 month. Even the prices are cheaper if I wanna buy SC. Speaking of codes, no MMO that I have played has given out special currency for free, not for birthday not for christmas or new years. In general, I find a lot of the drama around SSO jsut ridiculous. When the new characters got released the feedback? That was not feedback, that was people mad that oh no, how dare SSO give the option for bigger people. It was wild on servers ingame for months afterwards. The amount of fatphobia was crazy. This year I wanted to experience the wintervillage again and because my subscription ended a way before that. So before the wintervillage update I went to the website to buy a new subscription. And I saw that the pay once subscription was €35,98 and on 50% sale when it is normally around €70. And yes i am getting my 100sc allowance (first i was a bit scared because i couldn’t remember if i did). I agree with all your points, but there is one more theory about the star coin code lateness that I figured I'd point out; It was intentionally delayed, with all the Christmas deals and all the Star Coin offers being thrown in there so that parents would fork out cash to make their kids stop crying that they can no longer get the horses they want. It's a marketing strategy that I believe they expected would get them more money, but "unfortunately" backfired. One thing I really want to be pushed though, is what you said about not threatening or insulting others. I have seen endless stories and comments of people openly mocking the boycott side primarily. I've been called disgusting, ungrateful, greedy, stupid, petty and ridiculous for sharing criticism of the game. I don't take it to heart of course, but these comments just make everything worse. I find most folks (not all) on SSO's side tend to resort to mockery and insult instead of honest critique or just leaving it well enough alone. That said! Boycott people have also sent nasty things to people openly sharing they'd bought star coins. Really I just sometimes forget this is a community of children and teenagers who have trouble separating critique from bullying. Lovely video! I'm late to this party since I stopped playing SSO about a year ago (I'm now addicted to Genshin Impact which is WAAAY worse for my wallet! 😂) so I really appreciate how carefully you time capsuled the situation for people like me who only check in very occasionally! So I have no skin in this game anymore BUT I happen to work as an artist for a AAA studio, and something that is plain to me that I haven't seen anyone mention is that SSO is a relatively niche game clearly trying to keep up with the quality expectations being set by much more mainstream appeal games. So if SSO is greedy it's a vice that's also born out of love, same as the flavors of toxicity in the community. The cost of creating games of a particular standard and type are relatively similar (roughly, like, an open world MMO vs a 40hr narrative title vs a clicker mobile game kind of rough relative. Also depending on whether you pay your staff a living wage or exploit the crap out of them like what is usual in the creative industries). But for "live" games like MMOs, it's about the cost of 1. maintaining it 2. updating the backend to fix "tech debt" without breaking anything (see 1.) AND 3. releasing new content, which is normally the only thing a game company has to worry about. Live games are honestly a nightmare, no other industry or product has to deal with that level of effort and commitment and that's why companies are bending over backwards trying to come up with ways to consistently earn enough money without completely tanking their engagement. Add to that if mmo A's player base is smaller than mmo B's but they're going for the same quality, they're going to have to squeeze that same kind of money out of less people, making it more expensive per player. The way to NOT do that is to scale back your project's ambition and simply do less and with less staff. Definitely not an option if you want to attract more investors or players, so in this case even the usual "corporate greedies" are probably in a hard place. (I will say though, SSO's narrative team is definitely the starved child). SSO is the only horse-focused game/company that's ever made it this far, because it's so astronomically difficult to scope and pace a game's development correctly even without being niche in subject matter AND a "girl's game" which most investors are still allergic to. Not to argue against all the other reasons players were upset (bugs that major in a release is really not ok, and it tells me that leading up to it production messed up and everything was chaos and On Fire which is terrible- and might be why things like the star coin release were delayed! You might see the knock-on effects for a while tbh). Just thought you might be interested in the view of someone who isn't involved with SSO but is still a part of the industry. 😊

I don’t think that SSO needed to do the testing at all. We’ve been telling them that we want lower prices for years now. So if they had just lowered the prices and kept the 1200 SC plus 100 weekly then I think it would’ve been fine, but because they decided to do this testing to see if people would rather pay more or less they’ve just screwed things over with the community as a whole. I think it’ll take SSO a while to recover from this huge upset with their players this whole thing has caused. Yes I’m aware that it’s not just the star rider deals that are causing all of the upset and that there’s more to it, but the pricing is a big part of it.

THE MATH MAY BE INACCURATE! sso has been partaking in split testing (aka bucket testing, a/b testing) for a while. they recently sent out an offer of, basically, star rider without the weekly allowance, which is already super low. for the same price as normal star rider. (they have said for a lower price, but is it really gonna be lower?) we get 100 star coins per week, but if you don’t have star rider, you can buy it for 6 dollars. to get 1k it’s 18 dollars. most horses cost 850-950 star coins. you are paying about 18 dollars for a pixel pony. a singular pixel pony. if you saved up and did not buy any extra star coins except our 100 every week (52 weeks in a year) you could buy about 16, 850 star coin horses, and maybe some pets or tack. so sso better, either raise our allowance or lower the price of the horses.

You're math at the end is way off. 52 weeks a year ends your year with 5200 sc that's 4 horses depending on price not 16. Every weekend we get 100 sc (if you get it due to a bug you might not.) 100 sc for 52 weeks = 5200 sc on Dec 31. So if you rely solely on weekly allowance you can get only 4 horses a year.

Ok I’m going to share my opinion as this video made me think a whole lot about this whole issue. My opinion backing up SSO: I think that both sides have their equal share of good and bad. Star stable has made their fair share of mistakes so I feel like when people expect things they are building up themselves which causes the uproar when something changes. Star stable is a great game in my opinion but the developers don’t make the best decisions and that is why I’m kind of unsure. I feel like SSO is just a big drama platform. People need to learn to accept things sometimes and not get so expecting. Creating games and running a business is hard. While I feel like SSO developers are not the greatest I do believe they don’t deserve all the hate they get. People need to control their emotions and realize that when something happens, it doesn’t mean it’s time for a big uproar. SSO creators do give us a lot. They gave us multiple presents, they have a lot of codes for free items, and they give us a lot of updates in the game. About the 300 SC, SSO never made a promise that it would be a tradition to give us SC. They just did it every year which made people expect it. Again I think people should lower expectations because overall it’s just people trying to make money and have a job. A lot of the time people overreact on the smallest things. In the end it’s just a game. That isn’t everything I want to say but I don’t want a whole uproar of people coming at me for giving some credit to SSO. Now for my opinion backing the players: SSO has done a lot of things that they really shouldn’t have done. I do believe it could have been a test to see how we would react if they took SC codes away and clearly people did not react well. I do understand why people were so upset about the code. A lot of people rely on that code as they can’t afford SC or Star Rider. Also the whole shop thing is definitely not ok and I do believe that was on purpose as they never apologized for it. I do feel like there was a reason for the boycott and I can understand why it happened. I think if SSO was more transparent about what’s actually going on people wouldn’t be as upset I don’t really want to say anything else because I don’t like when people come at me for my opinion but I just want to make if clear, I feel like both sides have issues so I support both sides in some way. Ik I'm posting this in May but I was curious So I was disappointed when we didn't get the starcoin code but I wasn't mad. And now I'm watching this and I'm a little miffed and also a little scared because of some of the points brought up. Y'all are correct. But what Amelia says is the most correct, because you shouldn't get worked up quite this much about some of the things that SSO does. It's best not to get mixed up in it. I don't agree with some other recent marketing and business practices, but that's not a reason to just quit playing the game because lot of people love the game and they won't quit playing it, so a boycott is sort of useless

you know what I don't understand on the people saying we should be grateful? the fact these people don't even bother to do fact check on how long SSO actually worked on the "free rewards" or anything they have been adding to the game lately I work in the industry so I can say this quite confidently. Tack sets and even the horses are shaded and textured on a greyscale, so all artists need to do is use the select tool and bucket tool on photoshop to change set colors after to reuse it. Not only that but the Yeti set looks dangerously close to just a saturation and curve layers added on top of the original set we already had. If SSO works with professional artists and programmers, and knowing all sets and the 4 new horses we got were already in the game, model and texture wise, I did the math and in work days, they probably worked 12h on recoloring, and 2 days programming the yeti and uploading everything in game, I will be generous and say it took them a whole working week, 5 days if they work slow or add connection issues, lets say, very generous (aka I would be fired if I worked at that speed from places I worked in the past). this would be fine if these gifts were free and a one off, but all the stuff we have gotten this year aside from the new horse models which have to be paid for from our pocket as extras, no one can buy them on lifetime anymore if you want to buy one of each, were recolors of sets already in game, even the new horse colors look a lot like each other. Horses have a billion shades of bay in real life, but SSO keeps recycling the same 4 shades of bay, same with the black shade thats always the same or the silver manes, or even the grey texture that looks like one of their artist has just a pencil texture on photoshop and just uses it instead of handmaking the grey dapples. So, their work is been more lazy every event, with the reuse of textures and recolors being more blatant with each release, horse colors have been more boring and copy pasted than before, updates have been more buggy than ever, I mean we have had the new characters for half a year now and the proportion of the model still looks gigantic next to the other riders if you put the models side by side (no, not tall, we could be tall, I have no issue with that, the model is just pasted in the game on a bigger scale than all other characters, like a bad png crop and paste and thats a programming and scaling issue that should be fixed ASAP in my opinion, we look wrong on most ponies now) and they have been "less giving" to their players with SC but the prices keep increasing? Where is all the money going if the work is less detailed and "cared for" than 4-5 years ago? What are the justifications for these prices? Personally, I have an lifetime account but I used to pay for SC and even gave my friends SC and lifetimes as well. Did it for years. I havent bought anything since February. I cant justify the prices they are asking. I will not give them 50 to 70 dollars which is the minimum they ask for, if the work I see being put like a "new set, look how great it is, be thankful to us for our hard work" can be done in an hour, which is 10 dollars of payment where I live, to a single artist with a bucket tool on photoshop. I definitely fall somewhere in the middle. I have problems with SSO. there are things wrong. however, I also see the good. the people on the team making quests, horses, etc, work hard. I appreciate them. I'm always there ready to criticize kindly, but I'm also there to say "Yay, you guys are awesome." I 100% play both sides depending on the situation. no, I'm not always happy with updates. we haven't gotten quest progression in a while and that's annoying. however, what other game has updates every single week? I havent yet finished the video (at the 45 min) but i wanted to put my thoughts into words. (Also im not hating on the game, I'm a very passionate person and i love this game) I want to start by saying that the sso situation feels like its getting worse and worse (with some exceptions): the accidental false advertisement, the fact that it feels like theyre too prideful to say "hey, sorry, we f'd up", the starcoins code thing and the overall fact that the more this happens the more older players get angry (and in my opinion rightfully so). Another thing is the bugs. The amount of bugs is astonishing to me. Ive been playing sso for longer, but I now come from a game, Wolfquest if you wanna look it up on yt, that has a waaay smaller team but any time i get on it's honestly rare for me to spot a bug. Now, I'm aware that they're 2 completely different games, don't get me wrong, but yesterday i got on sso and it was bug, after bug, after bug (ranging from, any time i ran into something with a horse that has special gaits, it triggers them and you can't do anything but wait until the animation stops, when you brush the npc horses it tps you to yours, or when you pick their hooves they get stuck with their leg up, 'having a bad fall' by falling 2 pixels off of nothing, not being able to mount my horse, the follow/call commands never working, and i could add many more) until i just logged off. And you know what? I would have loved to help the devs by notifying them of those bugs but the hoops you have to go through to do that makes it too hard. Wolfquest, on the other hand has both an in-game report system, and a discord server with apposite channels for reporting any kind of bugs you might encounter < bugs that also then get resolved within a couple days, mind you (unless it's hard to recreate). I'll stop here before i write a whole book lmao. Also (insert 'english is not my first language' comment here)

English isn’t my first language so I didn’t know there was a difference lol. & Fortnite & cod battle passes are monthly, and they’re usually $30. We pay for lifetime once unless you’re subscription based SR which most people aren’t
