Bit of a back story: Mel applied for Jamie to audition on his own with his guitar, but a week before his audition Jamie broke his collarbone and therefore, was not able to play his guitar. The day before the audition, Jamie asked Mel to perform with him. They learned this song within hours of the audition. The two had never performed as a duo before their audition. Jamie is a musician, self-taught on guitar and piano. He has performed on stages in holiday parks from a young age and always had standing ovations for his vocal and dancing abilities. Mel is an accomplished singer/songwriter and has performed for audiences at home and abroad. Her country folk album was released 2 years ago and has had radio play regularly on BBC and Celtic radio. They have been performing in theaters, live radio, award ceremonies and for various charity organizations. Also, they recently performed alongside one of their former judges, Alesha Dixon, at the Pride Of Wales Awards.

The first song was the algorithm. Let the son take the lead and let the mom do back ups and harmonies. Sorry to say but the mom is kind of a hack singer, letting her take the lead and repeatedly trying to milk the mother-son emotions instead of new approaches are holding the act back. Also, singing to each other looking at each other has power, but you still need to cheat to the audience as is common when staging plays. Go back to the algorithm, it worked.
