A Standard Bully compared to XL Bully at a Dog Park

Today a Standard Bully and an XL Bully came to the dog park. Winston was skeptical of them, but they were fine. Then a Pit bothered Winston so he paw swiped him in the face a couple times and he left.

Story about this: When the Standard Bully, Deon, game in the gate he was mounted and attacked by a large Akita/mix. Deon just stood there. He just let the Akita/mix attack him for at least 20 seconds. Then he was like, alright, whatever, and moved on. I've never seen a dog just stand there while being attacked.

My bully is the same way. He'll take whatever from other dogs and just let it happen. He's just so happy that they're showing him some kind of attention Love the head on Deon! Looks like my XL but shorter 😍

My pup is the same way. Doesn't mind being mounted, doesn't mount, and if another dog growls or snaps at him he doesn't do much but step away. This one time a tiny little rat of a dog came up to my boy all dominand and snarly and my dog, passive puppy that he is, just put his tail between his legs and laid down on his belly in the most submissive gesture. Rat tried to mount him, realized it couldn't because even laid down he was too tall, and went absolutely ballistic on my dog. He literally didn't do anything. I ended up having to wack that agressive asshole with a stick to get it off, it was clamped on my dog's scruff like a damn leech. I'm honestly kind of glad my boy didn't react, because if he'd fought back, he could have really hurt the smaller dog and you know how people are, always looking to screw over big dogs. Good thing the little rat never came back to the park. Won't be missed.

@@mexa_t6534 i hear you.i would have grabbed by scruff of his collar though.not a stick although i did hit a pitbull over head with a stick once when it dragged my yorkshire terrior through a fence and killed it when i was young but thats another story lol..it didnt do shit...anyway my dog is big also but calm placid and playfull,,still he wags his tail if another dog gets aggressive untill he wont tolerate it on one occassion i saw this again through a park fence with my neighbours dog belgian malinois a few doors up giving it the aggressive mouth.. mine only switched when it continued for over a minute as me and the neighbour were talking,,,he shown what he could be capable of and i am training to keep him calm and fully in control....my next point is i take my dog to dog park he is very playfull and a bigger xl bully came in. all was fine and playful but the bigger called earl had the hots for my boy max and it didnt matter how much my dog walked him down and pinned him playfully the xl bully kept coming back for more..my dog was very patient allowed the mounting for play here and there but my dog would turn it around catch bigger dog off balance and hold him on his back as a warning and walk off and continue to play...but he kept coming back..my boy is 11mnth, i know he can hold his own and has awesome temperament but i think not enough education is done on training for owners, even cleaning up mess seems to be a problem for owners here. regulary i clear other owners dog mess ,its annoying but most wont put effort into training or knowing their dogs other than its a dog,thats it.....yes i am worried i lose my dog if someone else cannot control their own dogs agression...sorry for long message but i get your point entirely ,,its a worry for sure especially in the uk..

At 3:00 mins you can see Winston and Nevea playing, flirting, bit of bondage; whatever but you can see Nevea has every opportunity to resist, snap, bite and she doesn’t. It’s like she really enjoys it 😂

Neveah super attracted to the Bully's..and I love when Winston ain't having it with a dog trying to sniff him. Whether he doesn't like their energy or whatever his reason is he's a master of the defense lol. And when the XL Bully comes up to Winston he pops up from chewing his big stick, plays around a bit and then looks back to his stick like 'all right, that was cool, but I got this stick to chew. Hey! Lovely to see the Winnie and Nevaeh. Winston has still got the paw action, and Nevaeh has that permanent happy smile. What's not to like? I saw it pop up but waited until after work to have some chill pup time. Read your description about Deon, what a cool guy and lovely markings. I laughed at Nevaehs amorous antics - when Deon's asked "How did your day go?" "Well, I was attacked by an angry Akita and humped by a confused crazy Husky. But it's all good." He took it all in his stride.

I also agree that it's useless but if it makes you feel better, dogs have EXTREMELY high pain tolerance and do not get traumatized by the cropping if done with "care".

The white/brindle bully was gorgeous. So was deon! Deon has a great temperment! Shows a good owner! Winston of course, as always is just so chill! What was up with him getting ahold of Neveah on the side and not letting go for so long? I know it wasn’t aggressive, I’m just wondering if there is any explanation for it. I just like to learn about dog behavior.

I let Winston grab her neck like that because that is the way they naturally play. My Husky Neveah would say no if it was a problem. They grew up together, lived together their entire lives. Who am I to correct them?

What a polite standard bully boy. Very dignified, not very dominant, really sweet and gentle with the lab puppy. The good thing about dogs that don't retaliate to attacks or humping is they tend to deescalate agression and prevent any more fighting. Ofc it isn't always the case, some dogs are just so poorly trained and socialized they keep attacking even if the other dog doesn't fight back, but still. It's better to have a more passive dog, it just means you have to be more attentive to potentially dangerous situations for your dog and get them out sooner rather than later.
